Brilliant little phone. Would prefer it without the arial and maybe a bit more memory. Otherwise it looks and works great

Now, Nokia lies about the battery capacity.
When it says 820 mAh, always remember that in reality it is 720 mAh. BLC-4 type is correct, but there is no 820 mah of that type.

        WHRE IS THE PROOVE?
        Answer:
        Go to www.nokiausa.com
In the phone specs of 6103, it will say 820 mah (that's where GSM arena and other websites got the infor from), but when you click on " see more batterries for the phone" link, you will see it says: BLC-4 720 mAh! The same goes for all other so-called 820 mAh and mine so-called 760 mAh on mine 6170 model!

        NOKIA:
        Stop lying!

I dont understand why my 6103 doesn't ring out sometimes when I receive calls till I hit the back panel where NOKIA is written behind the phone. Is something wrong with the speaker or what? Help, cos I really like this fone!!!

Could someone please explain how I can get applications to work with the GPRS/EDGE ?
The browser works and my GPRS settings are correct but I can't get an application (Like Opera Mobile browser or MXit) to work with the GPRS. It simply does nothing. Is the phone's GPRS only set to work with its standard web browser? And for MMS? If that's so then this phone really sucks

Why do my callers say that when they call me my phone always goes on the radio. I cannot hear them but they hear the radio instead of my voice. Tell me what to do. I bought this phone 4 days ago.

to make it so it goes right back to the main page the power key would need to pressed lightly once.

I had the phone for less than three weeks and the LCD screen cracked. I simply put it in my pocket and went to the store. Not the sort of thing you'd expect to ruin a phone.

To the person who asked about transferring mp3s and pics to your phone, you can do so via bluetooth or infrared. I found all the software you need on Nokia's site.

I really impressed with this phone, i bought this somewhere in Nigeria. In all aspect it is worth it and very durable, except for the low memory it has 4MB...it is just too low.

He said its the first phone he's had since teh last time he had a phone which was 2002. He doesn't mean that he has had this phone since 2002. He probably just got it recently but its the first phone he has used since he last bought one in 2002. Pretty obvious if you read what he says. especially if you use your eyes. HOw do you read books?

Hmm, I'm sorry if I doubt the truth of your statement.Have you really used this 6103 since 2002??
I know that this 6103 be released not more than 1 year.
                            Please give your explanation,thanks.

My first cell phone since 2002, and I must say that this phone exceeds my expectations. I got mine from letstalk.com. It came with the phone (of course) and a bluetooth headset. I also bought a bluetooth adapter for my computer to transfer data back in forth. Its an excellent buy.

Maybe this website that you mean:

                                http://www.amobil.no/intern/mobiltelefoner/talk_time_testing-_for_real/28475/2

6103 position is also goed in compare with other type.

I'm sorry I forget about the price;here in Belgium:
                                  Nokia 6103 169 - 175 euro
                                  SE Z520 139 - 145 euro
                                  SE Z530 159 euro
                                  SE W300 199 euro
I don't know Z525 (it's special for North America) but it has the same specifications with Z520 plus GSM 850.

As I know, with the comparable price, with SE Z530 you can get more internal memory and possibility to expand with external memory;only no radio but you have MP3 player and the screen is UBC not TFT but it has more battery lifetime.I forget the website but there is a study about battery lifetime and the result Z530 is the king.

Or if you don't mind to spend your money (not too much), you can take SE W300,it has all that Z530 capability plus TFT internal screen, radio FM stereo, quad band (especially for you that live in North America) and EDGE.

Or if you want cheaper,I think SE Z520/525 have the comparable feature with this 6103.

                                    Just my opinion.

                                        I just bought myself a 6103 after owning a lg U8120.
I would not call it an 'upgrade' nor a downgrade. But it is definately a better quality phone than the LG i owned which was only 13 months old.

Here are the areas where the nokia stand out:

Quality/Durablity. The nokia is much less 'tinnie' than the lg. it seems quite robust.
When you flip the phone open it feels much smoother.

Size. The nokia is much more compact.

Accessories: Much easier to get hold of aftermarket components for the nokia. Also, the headset that comes with the nokia for MP3/push to talk headset is the highest quality. The LG accessories seemed very cheap and prone to breaking.

Battery. I fully charged the phone and left the phones fm radio playing all night with the headset turned on full. 12 hours later i found the phone still had half its battery life remaining which was a pleasant suprise.

                                        Where the nokia fails:

No calculator!! This really pisses me off as I always used the calculator on my LG, and now am forced to use my own brain.

Standard ringtones are the same as the nokia i bought 7 years ago.

Outer covers. The Outer cover of the 6103 seems like a kind of suede material over a plastic shell and it is very very easy to scratch, so you will need a cover.

Boxed accessories. Another thing that pisses me off about nokia is they dont include a Data cable for pc link up, unlike LG. Meaning that to swap your phone book from your old mobile to your new one, you will need to buy a data cable or do it all manually (which is ok if you have no friends), unless you are simply swapping sim cards.

Over all it is a good little phone. I mainly purchased this phone for it's bluetooth ability, something the LG did not have.
The other important factors were size, quality and it's features.

I could have spent an extra $100 and purchased a phone with 100,000 more colours on the screen or one that holds 500 more names in the phone book but that seems pretty pointless.
This phone will do most things you would expect from a phone (except a god damn calculator), depending on the network you sign it to and I recommend it for anyone wanting to buy a good phone without paying the extra money to have a few more screen colours than their mates phone.

And if you work for nokia and are reading this... put a effing calculator in your next clamshell style phone you pack of bastards!
