It's not me lol read all the text in forum under.

I have all maps in DVD from Route 66 Sync. When you buy Nokia 6110 Navigator Route 66 maps are included on DVD and 1 free maps Licence from the country you bought the GSM. The rest of the world you still have to buy Licence of usage. And Licence is correspond only with your IMEI number, so better not to try changing IMEI.

      You mension:

"I've been using my new Nokia 6110 for 3 weeks now and just got my first bill. I'm on the $49 cap. But received a bill for $1,100.00. The charges are all for the navigator (Its not free). I'm tying to work the problem out with optas now."

I don't think it's something to do with Nokia 6110 Navigator, It's free because you can use the GPS even without simm card inserted but you need only to buy licence for the map.

Big Thanks for the tip. It was actually the last three digits at the back of the credit card.

I apologize to what I mension the last time in the forum, I didn't know.

There was no instruction manual on how to buy map and yet this is my first time on this situation like this hopefully this will be the last.

        Your help is gratefully appreciated.

I bought licence map Greece but the street is written in a word that I don't damm understand.

Sorry GD to hear about your problem... but frankly, if you had read the manual you would avoid what happened!
In fact you don't need any data from your provider to use the Navigator application or the inboard GPS!
So basicly you are complaining about something that was your own fault (although you didn't meant to!)...
            Hope you work things out.
            Regards,

I was told a number of times that GPS on this phone is free.
At this point the phone is back at the suppliers and I am considering terminating the contract.

Nokia 6110 Navigator - Firmware & Software Inconsistencies:

After using the Nokia 6110 Navigator for 3 weeks, I have detected several problems, which IMHO should be correctes ASAP, if Nokia wants this phone to be a best seller...

                Bad/wrong Firmware/Software engineering... :

1-You should be able to enter the «Navigator Program» without activating the GPS receiver!
-->Battery discharge time would improve greatly while setting up a route, consulting maps, changing (navigator's) settings, etc. ...

2-It should be possible to hear navigational instructions through the phone's loudspeakers, while talking on the phone by bluetooth!
-->You need to drive with bluetooth switched on so you can legally answer a call while driving (in my country at least), but this way you have to carry your bluetooth device in your ear all the time to hear the GPS's tutoring...

3-You should be able to activate more then one map simultaneously (with the delivered-in maps, it isn't)!
-->If not, how do you plan a trip from France to Germany (or hear the instructions)?

4-When chosing [Navigator\Navigate\Contacts\Locate] for a correct (portuguese) address like this:
                R. do Chafariz, 23-3º Dto (Street, door number, floor)
                you receive the message
«No search results. Please check your text string»
If the address is incomplete like this:
                R. do Chafariz, 23 (which means no floor information, useless address from a database point of view...)
                everything works as supposed!
                Anyone has a solution?

5-Already 5 crashes (symbian OS Problem?) in 18 days! To restart the phone you need to take the battery out, most of the time!

                Improving Firmware/Software engineering... :

6-Route66 should improve its maping and route calculation... At least for the Iberia and UK Maps the provided information and algorithm route calculation is most of the time dead wrong!
-->Route66 still has a long way to go!

7-You could use the phone's inboard GPS receiver to gather satellite information to different software/hardware applications! Many users would find many uses for lots of applications and devices...

8-Battery capacity is to small for this phone's consumption! Please improve its capacity...

                Other complaints... :

9-TomTom's Symbian Navigation Software & Maps are miles ahead! In speed of calculation and accuracy of route planing; Route66 was not the best choice...

                General Conclusion:
If the above matters are corrected and TomTom releases its Symbian Program to work with this model (or Route66 improves its navigation program), the 6110 Navigator could turn to be the best GPS phone money can buy today.
I hope so, I have one and I'm tempted to return it because of these real problems!!!

Been using it for a month or so, the battery life is longer then the N95. Since I am in the a regional sales role, battery is life is important to me. The only thing is that if you are using your GPS in the car, bring along an in-car charger it would help a great deal. Secondly the OS is more stable then the last version, it does not hang.

                    Hello CCE

Have a look on the back of your card for a security code...

The last 3 digits would be the code they are after

This phone is great GPS but 2 big problem at the las time when I buy license for the map I get this message "General sever error (391)" on Route 66 Store.

If server is ok I found another problem with the this 6110 Navigator I get error message "Payment refused error (420)". You know why? I'm using visa, when I fill up my Credit Card Info I found out that the SECURITY CODE can accept 3 digits only not 4 digits, I can not type further anymore only 123 that's it, this is totally insane all credit card works with 4 digits. How the hell am I going to buy license now.

It seems so odd that selling this phone to people but can not buy map then this is useless and expensive. I know there are other programs like “smart2go” but I need to use what I bought. I’m leaving for vacation and hope to use the guidelines of the GPS, this is a very big disappointment to me.

anybody try the voice dial? The phone attempts to convert all those contact name to voice dial and many time it call the wrong name when I tried the voice dial. Is there any way to pre-define my own voice tag?
Appreciate if anyone knows the answer. Thanks.

I inqiured at optus regarding GPS. They say that you have to pay extra for some locations like uf u enter an exact address i think. But if you're just lookin for a road it's free.

                                    Hi all

I've been using the phone for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love. The battery life is pretty good and just a heads up that the GPS suckes the battery dry in minutes. To combat that all I purchased was a Force charger-holder which is now holding the phone about steering wheel height and charging in the same time. All the additional features including the speaker phone are great. I haven't had a Nokia in years due to other brands in my opinion overtaking Nokia in what they do best and finally they are re-emerging with handsets that are once again quite competitive.

                                    GREAT PHONE, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
