I have just rechecked the features for this phone and i agree, the lack of memory will be a problem especially if you put mp3's on it.
I have a question, does the the phone have a voice record function or do you have to use mp3's for your ringtones?

i think when this phone is released in the uk it will be more than £200 to be honest, but with the nokia qualtiy and D500 design it will be worth it.
In my opinion the memory isnt too big a deal nor the camera pixels, but i have been waiting for a phone like this for so long, it couldnt be much closer to what im looking for
Cant wait till the release :D Jonny

In the Netherlands, the Nokia 6111 is expected in the 3rd week of October 2005.

But I was wondering, can you use the phone-menu whitouth to slide the 6111 full open. You only need the keypad for sms and dialing if you havent put phone numbers in the phone memory.

However on the video on the nokia site you can see when somebody calls you have to slide open the entire phone....

On a small phone screen 2Mp may look the same as 1Mp, but if you look at the pics on your PC or print them it's not the same.

Argghh! 128 x 160 pixels!!! Thats so bad - they should have made it at least 208 x 208!

The screen resolution really lets this phone down!

The phone should cost around £200 BEFORE taxes roughly..and yes..it has a 1 mega pixel camera..but this can be as good as a 2 megapixel aslong as the photo's arnt that big. example, if you have 2 pics the same size, 1 took by a 1 megapixel cam and 1 with a 2 megapixel cam then the 2 megapixel camera will have twice the pixels to fit in the same space..but if the picture is smaller say, then the 1 megapixed picture suddenly starts looking like a 2 megapixel..some settings shopuld be able to set this off somewhere in the phone surely..

All phones evolve from each other - it slides like the D500, which evolved from earlier Nokia models. What if everyone moaned when a new candybar shaped phone came out, that they copied off Nokia?!? Don't see many people saying that

the reason i guess nokia is going for this sort of phones is because we (the customers) want a d500 but with a nokia branding. i guess it was not that nokia wanted to copy but to keep its customers happy. also according to me nokia was the first one to have a sliding mobile with the previous 8x series of 8910. so is it nokia coping samsung or vice versa? No harsh feelings ... Cheers

a real cool phone looks nice and is perfect. why is there a need to compare it with the d500. yes i agree that it looks like that but its a Nokia after all. It does have 1 MP camera but yes the memory could have been a bit more. Overall a good phone and would like to have it.

After reviewing the prices of current and ast Nokias, I think this'll be about £180 and free on contract - maybe less.
I would love one of these phones, any idea when they are out in the UK?

This is a lovely little phone - Nokia have finally started to consider the aesthetics of their products once again. With their new phones, I think they will be considered leaders of the mobile market again. One thing: when will it be available in the UK?? It said Q3, but is looking less and less likely, anyone know? Good work Nokia

I think nokia as got the right idea with the 6111. I run a phone shop and I hear customers every day saying "ow the D500 is nice, shame Nokia doesnt do a slide. Like the SL65 but shame its not a nokia. If Nokia made one id but it." I'm gonna buy one when there available in the UK. Nokia is deffinatly the best seller in my shop there so reliable.

Does anybody else think nokia are trying to copy other successful phones? Other brands have better ideas so they decide to steal them and make them uber crud
