ok Alina, so i fiddled around with the alarm a bit; set it, turned the phone off with it set, had the alarm go off when it was on, had the alarm go off with the phone off. No problems to report here. Sounds like either a one off error in the device or a Nokia basher. You cant tell me that at least some if not all corporations dont pay people to give good reviews of their own products and bad reviews of competing corporations.

Alina: I haven't set the alarm because i have had no need to, i will do it later. The speakerphone quality is decent, good quality if not turned up full but depends on song. On some ring tones or mp3's it is a little quiet but i found that it was more than loud enough for me. I think the loudspeaker is more than sufficient, much better than my old sony ericsson.I'll get back to you on the alarm issue.
Cruz: I'v found the inbound quite loud enough for me, although my hearing must be alot better than other people's because i found both the loudspeaker and ordinary speaker loud enough

I've heard that the inbound calling volume, is not loud. It's also mentioned in this review here: http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_6111-review-61.php.
It's written that in a noisy street you have to press the phone really close to your ear.
Anyone else has got the same problem?

Ben, have u set the alarm yet? Bcoz i heard that in some cases after setting the alarm the phone just won't switch on again.
And are the speakerphone and the loud speaker as poor as they say in the review (they say they should be louder)?
If u find any other flaws please do tell us.
Thanx!! :)

Sandra: it does have photocall but the picture is small. You can do ANYTHING with the phone when it is closed other than type.
Wolvesfanette: The pics of the 6111 with the "cracked ribbon" dont look believable to me. First off all zebra cables dont crack, they're highly flexible. Second of all that "crack" looks alot like a cut to me, whereas spring damage would look more like chaffing, and the rods are incapable of anything like this. Third of all, if there is one spring on each side why is there a "crack" on one side yet the other side is COMPLETELY undamaged? And last but not least why has NO-ONE else had this problem? many people have had this phone for much longer than 2 weeks.
Mann: the 1 2 and 3 keys are far enough away from the slide that its not hard to press the keys.
Tina: 1mp pics on my 6111 average about 160kb in size.

I'v had the 6111 for one week now in Tasmania, Australia and i'm sick of ppl saying that its not out in Australia yet. I ordered it from a local store last friday and it came in monday morning. My battery seems to last a few days with average usage (no music or camera, about 30 messages sent and 2-5 minutes call per day) or about one day with heavy usage (about 40 mins of mp3's, 73 pics taken with 34 saved, 124 messages sent, 121 recieved, 20 minutes of calls and 10 mins of video recorded)i say that because after having fully charged the phone during the previous night and limited useage during the day i had flattened the battery by 2am during an all nighter. I have big hands and i can use the keys fine, they are fairly soft to press. My handset does occasionally turn itself off BUT its not the phone that turns off, its the screen and after 2 quick taps on the power button it turns back on. This never happens during a call or message, only when browsing (also is very infrequent), i'll get it fixed sometime soon but i havent got the time right now. The camera is not great normally (but fine for the small screen) but with the right circumstances it produces near flawless pictures. video recording is token, being relativly low resolution but then again this is a phone not a camera. If anyone has any questions to ask me i'll keep an eye on this site.

At least Australia isn't the only country that doesn't have it. Seems crazy since we do have the highest mobile phone usage per capita in the entire world, but still.
I keep getting the wrong information from the Nokia Australia website too. Useless.
Looks like I'll be waiting for January for my silver one. Pity the N70's are so expensive, I'd get one of them otherwise. I'm so over waiting for this phone. Six months now! *frown*

erm .. can anyone just say the appropriate life time of the phone ? .. i wanted to buy it .. but after reading the comments on the life of the batteries (auto switchin' off .and only lasted for that few hours and stufss).. i am still wondering whehter to buy it or not .. what is exactly the life time of the battery ?
this phone is so stylish ! i saw this phone's advertisment .. and i totally fall for it ..it is so cool .. i must praise tis designes for this phone ..
what is exactly the keypad when you are using that keypad of that phone ? ..is it soft ? .. of the numbers especially 1 2 and 3 ,..are they difficult to press because of the sliding ? .. i would like to hear the definite answers about this phone .. anyway .. i love it so much..

Tina,
As the specifications show, the memory is 23mb onboard, no expandable memory (e.g. mmc card)
But I have found that when I have had a mmc card in my phone I have hardly used it.
1 megapixel photos are only about 300kb each anyway, so plenty for that night out with the girls/lads!

I have pre-ordered the pink one, been told I will get it before Xmas.
I have heard bad too, including the ribbon which connects the screen to the phone ripping in the slider, but the way I see it, it is sooo cute, and nokia, that if I buy from a reputable shop and pay for insurance, I cannot go wrong.
I soo cant wait! I have a pink 6230i at the moment and the 6111 is really a downgrade but I DONT CARE! Did I mention it is cute!

This cute phone is in Nokia shops in Croatia since Monday. Finaly! I thaught it would come only in black and silver, but on distributor's web page it says in pink also. Unfortunately they have it only in black in shops, so I will have to wait for the pink one, or the silver, haven't decided yet. Hopefully somewhere in the beginning of January. It costs nearly 400 Euro. Haven't seen it live yet, but I know I'll love it!
I would also like to know weather you can answer calls without opening it. Thanks in advance!

Corey, what did O2 say about that problem u have, not being able to turn the phone on again? Is there a fix for this??
Do ALL the 6111 phones have this problem, i mean after setting the alarm u can't turn on the phone anymore?
