Nokia 6126 clamshell

05 April, 2006

Today Nokia announced their quad-band EDGE clamshell 6126.

The phone is only 17 mm thick and weighs 112 g. The main display is a 2.2" 16.7 million True Color QVGA display. The external one is 256K colors with 128 x 160 pixels resolution. Nokia 6126 supports various music formats, has a microSD card slot and thus can be considered as a music phone. It also has a 1.3 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom. The phone runs on the third edition of the Nokia Series 40 user interface.

It seems that the new Nokia 6126 is identical to the Nokia 6131 model, announced at 3GSM this year. It's not clear why Nokia needed another model number for the Americas.

Nokia 6126 will be available in the US in Q2 2006.

Also, the RAZR V3i has no EDGE (only GPRS). The Nokia 6131/6126 does.
