Though is has only a 1.3mega camera but given the slim size, 1.6 million colors, expandable to 2 Gb, and so on.. also cheap.
Where can you find such a good deal...
Pls don't complain anymore here...
Even you buy mercedes or BMW still not perfect..
Those who hesitate to buy, go ahead and buy..
Don't listen to those not even use the phone and keep complaining and complaining...Weird.

jt81,
I'm puzzled that the shop you bought this Nokia 6131 are so kind to let you change 5 times. I thought they will ask you to so to Nokia service centre instead.
From what I know is that dealer got the phones from Distributor and they cannot return for unsold phones. If your last 4 sets with them, what they going to do with it.
Maybe, it's not true that the phone has problem or maybe it's you who want to undermine this phone. Pls advise.

Well got my 5th one, they tried to give me one that had bad sound, but i wouldn't accept it. Seems to be working great so fingers crossed.
Light indication on the mini display for missed calls and messages - when you get a message it vibrates and does the normal stuff. But if you don't open the phone to read the message, or look at the missed call, every couple of minutes it flashes with the backlight, on off on off a few times. You can turn this feature off though if you want. Although if you have your phone on your desk at work it comes in handy if you didn't see the phone go off in the first place - it catches your eye.

Did anybody reviewed the A2DP question? For some time nokia stated that this phone would support stereo bluetooth headsets/gateways. But it seems now that stereo audio is only available via cable...

Yes, early versions of phones are often very buggy. This was also the case with my 6270. After the firmware update a few months ago (and a few drops), it works fine-fine-fine and I consider it very reliable. I believe the 6131 will follow the same pattern...

There is no special Nokia PC Suite for this phone - there is one PC Suite that works with all phones. And that PC Suite doesn't want to work on many PC's. If you're unlucky, you can try to get it work on your PC but success isn't granted - you have to do a lot of stuff, including unistalling PC Suite and registry editing and at the end it can (and most likely will) be futile. Shitty software - that's what it is.

Well, got my fourth one, as I said, thought i'd keep you updated. All working perfefctly fine. Sound quality os great, sends messages, takes pictures.
But this morning when texting, bearing in mind I only got this phone yesterday, the number 3 button decided to come off. Which is great. So now i have to take THIS back for the 4th time and get my FIFTH handset.
I tell you, when I finally get a working model, Nokia are gonna be hearing a complaint from me. How can I go through 5 phones, all with completely different faults?

No problems so far. A fine phone, design is a bit funny, but some may call it "personal".
Battery life seems to be moderate, in heavy use maybe two days... with a few txt and short calls maybe 4 days (phone on during nights).

I've been buying Nokia phones since my first pay as u go chip and their early batches of phones are always faulty...looks like they've kept up their trend with the 6131. I can't wait to get this phone but i'm going to resist temptation and wait a couple of months before i make my purchase.

Wanted a Nokia flip phone for a long time, loive Nokias, always wanted a flip phone, so was delighted when this came out as it looks really nicely designed as well as being a good functioning phone.
I think there are however, severe problems with the 6131 at the moment. I am currently on my third 6131, about to get the 4th one - because of numerous problems.
First phone, the camera was faulty, as someone else here specified - it came up with "operation failed" and went into standby. Same with the video. So i exchanged that phone for a new one.
Sent a text message on it, which got stuck in the outbox - couldn't delete it, couldn't "stop sending" it. And the main opening screen had a message on it that said "sending failed for #1# message" with the number #1# going up every second to 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. It goes up forever. I could do nothing with the phone, I couldnt access menus, call anyone, or anything. Turning it off and then on again after about half a second it would start up again. So I took this back - this was less than a day after I had it replaced.
So am now on the third phone, and this one, as someone has stated before on here, has bad sound quality on calls, they sound very distorted and crackly. So i am on my way to get the 4th one tomorrow.
I have a funny feeling half these early models will be recalled. Which is a shame because the phone itself is great - when it works.
This time I am going to stand in the T Mobile shop and try everything out before I leave the shop and if something doesn't work i'll be exchanging it again and again until I get a fully working model.
Anyone else had similar problems???

I'm interested in getting this phone but I want to use it mainly as an MP3 player. Has anyone used it for this? Can you upload directories with music to a miniSD card and have the player playback on those directories (albums, artists etc.)?
Also, does anyone know what the real battery life is? I'd greatly appreciate your feedback.
Thanks.

6126 is the north american version of 6131... I believe the only difference between them, is the lack of PTT (Push To Talk) in 6126.
To set things right: 6126 is NOT 3mm thinner than the 6131! They are the same size... The average thickness of them both is 17mm and the maximum is 20mm...

Ok so nokia is coming out with the 6131 and the 6126 (which is nowhere to be found on this site). Can anyone tell me what is the difference between these two phones except for the 3mm size difference.
