It looks like the clam shell is opening with a rough vibrating move. Don't you think this vibration will affect the LCD/opening mechanism in long term usage? Why Nokia did not put a smoother mechanism there,to avoid opening the clam shell with such speed?
I like very much the design, but this important part of the phone looks cheap and prone to failure in long term...

yea i agree with AJ i've had the nokia 6102 and it was ugly and plain and felt really cheap.
but somehow i don't believe that nokia chairman guy is real tho =/ cuz i don't think nokia is that stupid not to release the 6131...it's a very good seller the 10 that were on ebay are already sold lol nobody wants the crappy 6101 man.

I just bought mine on ebay for $329+$30 shipping from Hong Kong. They had 6 available and it went fast. sold 3 within 15 minutes while i was reading it haha i think they have 3 more left last time i checked.

this is a very good looking phone.it has 16 million colour display, wide screen ,edge , bluetooth, and external memory, mp camera, fm ,music player & lots many features . go for it .

In Thailand, official price for 6131 has been set--220EUR. though its availability is still not clear.

Then why are you listing it on the Australian nokia website? - not that i am in the telecommunications industry but i'd be willing to bet that there will be more of a profit made on this phone in Australia than in NZ. You should probably discuss this with your marketing and distribution people and show them this website if you hold this position at Nokia.. as you can see there are plenty of people in Australia willing to purchase this phone...

For the last time, this phone IS being released in Australia; I don't know where you get your info from.
Some sites have already begun to list it. e.g.

They give a price of $429 - which sounds pretty reasonable.

i just spoke to vodafone UK and they said that at present they're not supporting this phone, and didn't think it was out yet.

THIS phone will not be released in AUSTRALIA..only in NZ.australia will only have nokia6101

This'll be a nice
replacement to my Panasonic VS3,
which lacked BT, external screen
and card slot.
Gonna miss the customized
icons setting and macro switch
on the cam, though.. :/
Btw, as I've "felt up" this phone,
I'll let y'all know
the black one feels especially
great in the hand
due to the soft texture paint and
a the (fake leather) rubber patch on the back.
However, the white/silver one has a nicer
keypad, but everything else looks
and feels kinda cheap.
I also got to play with a
working prototype some months ago,
when it was still not decided
whether the cam was gonna be
2 mpix or not. I guess they cut
that plan for a lower retail price instead.
