Jithin, I would just like to ask if you had your phone be replaced by nokia showroom because of the white spots that appear in the inner display when you flip-open the phone. Coz i have the same "problem". I say "problem" because it really does not bother me much but I'm afraid that it will have problems later. Thanks.

I bought the 6131 for my wife after a lot of research, and the one thing i must say is the phone hasn't let me down. Even she is happy with it, which is surprising :-). Its been a few months now and the phone has given ABSOLUTELY no problem. All the features are good or above and the display is fantastic. The ONLY real grouse in the phone is the Night Camera, but thats secondary. I would reccomend this phone to anyone with average normal use. Most of the queries and complaints i have read are from people who haven't understood the features completely, once you have a card all the memory problems are solved and yes the flip is great and operational either way. Just go get it.

hey, i got this model last week, it´s really amazing, the thing is, like jithin said, the battery. I already called nokia for info and their answers were.
"Sorry, but this model is not a mp3 player, it has the accesory, but it´s still a phone" well man, brilliant answer...the thing is that they told me that the battery is perfect, and if you want to use mp3 player y´ll have to charge it every 2 days...
I´m not giving up, if that´s what u were thinking...

                hi whoami4

I too hv been using and recommend only nokia... even now, i will not change the brand at all. i will still buy nokia.
but i feel they dont hv any nice models in the middle range. Am nt talking abt the N series. somethin below n series.

i do like my 6131 a lot. just a few complains i listed out, maybe the piece i got was nt good. i had been only using nokia
                all the way. i had 8250, 6510, 6610, 6600, 6230 and now 6131. i still use the 6230, n i love it alot, its the best i hv used.
no complains at all. i too hv 2 numbers ;-)

And by the way, i got my 6131 from a proper Nokia showroom with warranty and bill so there is no way its fake.
Neway, the showroom offered to replace the model, i can either take the same or different one. any suggestions?

and ya, i read posts abt battery prob and silver quoting scratches already here.

                  hey jithin...
seems like you have picked up a fake one. no one is having similar complaints including me like yours. you know i have tried almost all makes of mobiles and finally convenienced that Nokias are the best in the mobile phone category. i have stopped experimenting with other makes. they may offer many features like cosmetic looks, include extra battery, hands free speakers etc etc, but...but no one can beat the reliability, service, ease of use and signal strength like Nokias. this is the reason i own 6130i, 6100, 1112 and 6131. it sounds crazy, why somany phones???i have two numbers and i keep switching phone when i get bored with the same one. Nokia means mobile and mobile means Nokia.

                    Problems and defect
                    ------------------

                    1. Battery life is very poor.
(I get only 50% battery life in my new Nokia 6131 when compared to my old phone Nokia 6230. My usage is the same with both the phones. With Nokia 6230, I used to use MP3 and radio but I don’t used Mp3 or radio in 6131.)

                    2. The quality of the silver quoting around the keypad is poor. Scratches started appearing on the silver quoting right from the 2nd day of use. I really don’t know how it started appearing.

                    3. Bubbling and patch on the black quoting around the inner display.

                    4. Black quoting on the body is pealing off. Poor quality of raw material used.

                    5. Sometimes the external display goes blank. We need to switch off the phone for it to resume normal functioning.

                    6. While we open the flip, few white spots are noticed sometimes inside the inner display.

                    7. Occasionally the phone automatically reboots.

                    8. When the Inbox is empty, the count still shows 2 messages.

this phone is alright. it is decent looking, the flip is fun, the colour is good, easy to use, and the camera is good in daylight and a decent battery life (but anything would be better than my old phone.. so i dunno). but the internal memory isn't very good (lucky i have an sd card).

My biggest problem with this phone is that it doesn't keep track of the time you've been talking on the phone for. not until you hangup..which in my opnion is extremely stupid. people are telling me you can change it, but i have noidea how. so could somebody please tell me is they know?!

i bought this phone about 2 days ago and i'm completely happy with it. it looks amazing and the buttons are really easy to use, although the camera is low quality, it is satisfactory.
the button on the side to open the phone is so addictive and you cant stop realising how cool the mechcanism is.
i have a bluetooth dongle with i use to send pictures to my phone, can someone please tell me how to use it to send pics to my computer? thanks, if anyone has concerns about the phone please contact me on spamweed@hotmail.co.uk

I've got both cells K750 and 6131. Man, you can't even compare the two cells. The K is incomparable better than 6131 from all points of view, excepting the display. I have to admit the display of Nokia is the only reason which made me buy it, although I knew its battery life sucks. Now i'm searching for a battery for Nokia with higher amperage, because the energy consumption of the two displays is huge.
