one correction, i see comments like "k700 have stereo speakers" which is truly wrong. k700 is a good phone but has no stereo speaker nor does 6230. The only thing they have stereo is the sound comin' out of the earphones not speakers. Thx.

Hi Francesco, what i can say about earphones for 6230 and e398 (they both have stereo output by earphones) will be limited and the reason is; e398 has a very good sound quality in earphones, too. You can raise the volume of the earphone by using some programs (which is set to 1 in phone software) to 8, and same for ringtone, video and system sounds. It's set to 1 originally and even that is enough to give high sound output for e398. I listened nokia ,too, but i didn't check if there are also software programs for nokia that you can hack into the phone and play with its original settings. If so, you might get better output than what you can get now from earphones.Thx.

great post levent ,it summarize well many things . I'm very thorn between 6230 and k700i , the are both very good phones and one offers some speed / good sft. and tiny size while the other offers a very beautiful screen and also user interface ... not an easy choice.

I feel sad to see people using hard words attacking each others. What do you get from the particular company? See every brands of phones have it's pro and con, it's depends on individual which one suits you most. There's no company can design a phone that is so perfect and suits everyone needs and requirement. This forum is to share your opinions and review after you have use it for a period but not to exchange words of war. Let's make this forum a place to exchange and help each every users worldwide. Anyway I'm a 6230 owner and I'm in IT line, I personal feel this phone is great but doesn't means others model or brands are not good, it depends which one suits your requirement and that will be your perfect phone.

to Dolly, i think you are forgetting something. Yes sony is sony but,Nokia is/have been the world's biggest and best phone company until last year-still most selling as of today-. Nokia produces 99% phones and sony produces so many things. So maybe you could say " oh it's Sony" if you are buying a stereo or T.V. but not when you are buying a phone. Especially, you can't compare it with Nokia. Your comment doesn't make sense anyways. You are comparing 6230 to P900? Then i should compare 9300 or 9500 communicator with k700 but it wouldn't be a fair comparison right?

I really don't want to get into this discussion now especially in nokia forums but i'll only do that after i read yulizky's comment on mentioned phones. It totally depends on buyer's expectations. If you want to have radio go for 6230 or k700. If you want to have bigger screen better resolution get E398 or k700 BUT there is one big negative for k700; no memory slot, fixed to 41MB.On the other hand you can upgrade 6230 and E398 memory. Some say k700 is small so better but wrong, to again it's keypad seems like designed for lady fingers. If you are lady no problem. K700 has very slow processor, 6230 and E398 is far better on software speed than k700. Let me be honest with you guys, I am using E398 at the moment and have a nokia too (have been a nokia user for last 10 years btw). To me, 6230 better VGA resolution than E398 and K700. The screen quality in E398 is better than other both. From Mobile-review.com-->"In this segment the screen’s quality is the best (it can be compared only with Sony Ericsson K700). I`d say that competitors from Siemens and Nokia are losing the quality battle rather hard. The screens that can be compared with Motorola E398 are located only in new Samsung phones, which are targeted differently."
In all phones you can have video recording even there are people asking if they could have it in E398, yes. Only if you do the required software upgrade (97R and Flex you can have video recording in E398. K700 has the worst battery life among other two. The only think K700 is better than 6230 is it's screen size and resolution in my opinion. But again 6230 and k700 have radio which you don't have it in E398. I'd prefer 6230 to k700 if it had same screen size&quality with others and had a better battery life. I'd never prefer k700 because it's SE and SE is a very well known brand with it's software problems. I'd prefer (actually preferred already) E398 and I don't mind not listening to radio. However, Moto screens (latest models)are best because they are made by the best on screen-Sharp- but again you can only compare them with samsung as in the article above it's mentioned, long battery life (i played 5 hours games, listened music outloud for 2 hour and kept downloading stuff from internet to my phone all day long. At the end of the day(around 9 at night lets say) i had 2 lines remaining out of 3 in my battery meter, expansion slot (6230 has it too-which is cool-k700 does not have it ;), stereo speakers (second to none) and has very fast software. To me, it doesn't matter to me how much the phone costs if you can't upgrade it's memory. So the winner to me yulizky; e398 and then 6230 and k700 as last. k700i is better,6230 is looks same like 6610i, WAP is more powerfull in k700i,

Can any of u guys tell me that, like in nokia 6600 there is the real internet with graphics (not wap), does nokia 6230 has the same internet or does it have wap. please reply to this question.
