This is the best phone I've ever seen it's small, cute, and very eye-catching. But it's not just outside appearance that made me love it, it has basically most of the features of 6600, and more!!! And if I would choose between 6600 and 6230, I will surely choose 6230 because it has Bluetooth, VGA camera, MMC slot, infrared, EDGE, radio, and it even supports and plays MP3 and AAC music files! So in summary, it has all the features that you'll need to be entertained, and to keep on-tract of your life and business. It's what you must have for all the lives you lead.

I used 6230 two weeks. After 6600 its a toy for me. I didn't like its joystick. Then I change it again with 6600.

              Hi,

This is for all who are having trouble transfering files to MMC. You can transfer files directly to MMC without buffering in the phones memory by doing the following steps.

After installing the PC Suite on the computer, go to My computer (Make sure phone is connected to the PC), click on the nokia browser then click the nokia 6230 icon(If the phone is not connected to the computer this, nokia 6230 may not appear, so make sure it is connected through infra or USB). Then click the gallery folder and in that there will be many folders out of which one is Memory Card Folder. You simply copy paste the file into that folder and it will be saved directly on the MMC card. I have transfered 12MB video files as well!! and it works.

After the file has transfered check in the MMC through the phone if the file is there.

              I hope it Helps.

4SEVEN.... i've just discovered the very same, used PC Suite to transfer and after each it says 'not enough memory' (or similar) and when i transfer the file the PC Suite doesnt 'refresh' to allow other transfers. It does however refresh once you close PC Suite and reopen again, then you can transfer again. Its a pretty bad design fault that doesnt allow direct transfers, you can of course buy a cheap MMC read/writer, but you obviously have to take out the card each time.... little INconvenient in my eyes.

that seems a bit of a drag. i would have expected you to be able to transfer directly from the pc to the card. has anyone done this thus bypassing any ram limitations of the phone itself?

I found that the phone needs the space free in the phone memoery in order to trasnfer to the MMC.

So if you were to transfer a 5mb song to the MMC, you'd need 5mb free in the phone memory.

I dont know if you can set it so that it goes straight to the MMC without buffering in the phone, but if you got yourself a card reader, they seem to work good, just using drag and drop.

great features, but bad in all means of transfering data and managing the features that are written in the manual and supposed to be in the fone.{i dont advise this fone at all}.

                                    Dear Friends,
Can anyone help me, since got this 6230 phone and this problem have been bothering me.

When I took pictures from the phone, stored and later send out by mms-perfectly no problem. But when my friends transfer pictures to my phone either by bluetooth or infrared, this 6230 can received and stored. But unfortunately, whenever I need to send out this pictures by mms, always prompt File Format Not Supported.

I sent in the phone to check and the service centre said it's like that (but I tried other nokia camera models do not have this problem) and I called the Nokia Helpdesk 2-3 weeks ago and promised to look into the problems but never call me back and I'm sick to call them again because no action.

Worst still, since I bought this phone one and half months ago and faxed the CD-Rom request form at first week of April. (No CD Rom in the package when bought) Have called the helpdesk few times alternate week and still getting the same answer-shipment delayed.

Now I'm getting tired waiting for the answer and I don't think they will called me. Feel disappointed with the poor service and looking to buy another model. Can anyone recommend any brand or model that is better than this disppointing phone. Anyway, I like this phone because of its 4 mins recording, otherwise....

Thanks for reading and hope to hear from u soon. Have a nice day ahead.

cable is the fastest, then bluetooth, & infrared

thanx guys..but when tranfer by infrared completes it asks whether i want to store it in mmc card or phone memory..but i think maybe while transferring it firsts stores it in phone and then when transfer is complete it gives options...one thing more is data cable faster or infrared or bluetooth
