hello. can someone help me please. why does my phone hangs when i transfer mp3s (through bluetooth) from my computer. i shortened the mp3 and it transfered but when im trying to use it as ringtone, my phone went off then on again. what bitrate or hz..etc...should my mp3 be so i can use it. by the, it plays well when i open it, but cant use it as ringtone....

My 6230 is perfect for me. The version on my phone is 5.50. The response is fast , never hang on me and it takes in 1gb card flawlessly. Although the camera is only a VGA - it is fine with me. The loud speaker is really loud but I do not find it that clear.

Here is the answers for some of the queries.
Nokia 6230 can adopt the memory card available in the market at present. That is 1GB is working fine. provided you have to upgrade to SW Version atleast 5.35.
You can upgrade only from the known service people or with nokia service center. But they charge atlest 3 times more from the privete service people. You have to search for them.
Media equlizer is working for MP3 only when you are playing through stereo head set. You can feel the difference between Normal and Jazz by seting it.
If you upgraded to new SW version then the option of indivdual ring tones from the phone contact is not available.
Phone contacts can be taken back up to PC using nokia pc siute and compatible infrared software.
Not only contacts, you can take back up of your entire phone settings.

Hi dear 6230 fans!
Its simply incredable, fabulous and mindblowning,sober cellular in the world. any how this set can support the maximum memory slot available yet.. I did't know about the version up-gradation. thanks

I have to tell the 6230 fans that you have one of the best phones in all user aspects. I need help here fellows, could any one direct me where I can update this software version 3.17 to at least 5.35 from the web? I believe this will help adjust the font size from only "small" and "medium" to up to "large" which happens NOT to be there. This will help save my eyes as I browse a lot. Thanks.

i want to know more about the media equalizer, is it working, anytime i have my radio on and try to set it it just doesn't work, but switchng the camera's night mode on is just superp it has a very clear picture

to KHIDOT: Maybe your phone isn't the problem, maybe the way in which you charge the battery is. Just in case you haven't done so, you need to go through a complete charge and discharge cycle before you can get the full performance out of a new battery. This needs to be done 3 times in sequence. If you haven't done so and want me to explain further I will do so.
To KAMBI NYEUSI: I own a 6230 and I have used the K700. In my opinion, the K700 has a better equalizer, example, when I adjust the treble to a higher pitch on the K700 I can easily hear the difference, when I do the same thing with the 6230 I hear no difference. In other words, when I adjust the equalizer on the 6230 it sounds the same way as it did before the equalizer was adjusted. I simply hear no difference in the 6230's music when the equalizer is adjusted. Other than that, the 6230 is the BEST phone you could ever own. Since you are a music fanatic let me just say that the K700's speaker is very low when playing music (MP3s etc.) whereas the 6230 speaker is LOUD! some even say it's loud like a walkie talkie It BEATS the K700 hands down in every other department !!! These 2 phones are the MOST COMPARED phones ever BUT the Nokia 6230 is the CLEAR WINNER !!!

Well I am fan of Nokia, I love their menu and the speed for typing sms. BUT the biggest problem of this phone is the F... battery! It lasts less than 15h!!! Talk lasts less than 1h... I thought at beginning that the problem was due to my battery so I changed it. BUT the problem remained and I changed it 4 times! And all people I have met with the same phone got the same problem...

ive had lots of fones n to me nokia is always the sh*t.now i have a 3200.my bro got a SE K700 which is also the sh*t man.on the SE K700 the sound quality is awsome.the bass is as thick as spunk,even when playing radio.i wanna get the 6230 but i wanna know.does the bass quality match up to K700?HOLLA YALL-Leslie from Kenya

i m a nokia fan but this phone is not available now .... it was a good fone......
my father had one....... but it was expensive at that time and still on internet it is expensive than k610i and w300i
