Your message alert tone is set to "Ascending" rather than "Rigning" and that is why the tone starts off low then gets louder. And as for your phone switching istself off, it shouldn't do that. It sounds like it's got a software fault. If your phone is a contract handset then it will be under waranty for 12 months and they should replace it. Good luck

Guess no one reads previous posts im afraid. ah well here goes again,6230i does come with earphones though not the best in the world, but no usb cable, utilise blutooth or ir, far better anyway. As to the most common post with this phone about ramped ringing, its built into the phone software im afraid so deal with it. Matt your post about shutting down probs, 2 possibilities, 1 faulty firmware or the other issue ive come across recently, if you try to run an older simcard in this phone , say from 2 or three years ago you can sometimes have this problem, it seems that older simcards run on slightly different voltage and can cause instability with the firmware, hope that helps. This phone despite what nokia state about the 512mb card limit will run on higher, BUT BE WARNED, it dosent like all media cards so if you buy a gig mc ensure you are able to return if not suited.Finaly worth posting again, battery probs, throw away the supplied charger and dig out an older nokia acp 7x (the ones that came with say 3310 etc. these chargers pump out less amps and volts so the charge is slower but as with all rechargable batteries slower charge = better capacity. Its worth a couple of extra days standby charge.

the menu after media is organiser , not push to talk ><
I've checked it thousands of time and it dont have Push to Talk . I even compare the user's manual guide from nokia.com.my and mine . Its printed out push to talk avaibility in nokia.com.my and my user's guide doesnt even have it printed =.=

But the things im sure of 101% confirm its 6230i , just curious why mine dont have PTT function .

this phone is very good, but the 65tft color is bad, they could make 262tft and a better cam, then the phone was absolute fantastic!

maybe i missed some options... but yeah nice phone.

Well to all 6230i users, this is one hell of a superb phone. Thought i would never settle for a mobile with a small screen after venturing to SE K700i, S700i, N6680 & N70. Well i bought this phone abt a month back, thought of only using it for awhile & who know I'm stuck with it bcoz I simply LOVE IT. So much so, couldn't be bothered to use my N70 that i sold it away & lost $300 in 2 months :(

Man I like the screen resolution, the camera is fine with 1.3, except it could be better if it has photo-light like SE. I also just bought the HS-6 display headset & man the headset is stylish & I LOVE IT.

Guess i'll be sticking to this phone for the longest considering i have the tendancy to keep changing phones but this is a sure STUCK ON ME phone :)

FYI, it can use 512mb RS DV MMC as well, i swopped it from my N70 & it works perfectly, no lagging whatsoever.

Thge Nokia 6230i is an absolutely awesome phone, the screen is of better quality than the larger symbian phones and mated with a 1.3 megapixel camera it is simply outstanding! For the users with USB cable problems check to see if you have installed the DKU-5 cable driver first before you install the PC suite. Then restart the computer and plug the phone in, windows will have a pop up meu from the task bar saying found new hardware, it wil then install it and will tell you that it is instaled and ready to use. Once this has been done you should be able to connect fine. E-mail me with any other queries!

Btw, any idea what version the firmware must be for it to be compatible with the PC?
