Yes! i have the same problem too with dust getting under the screen. dont know if it is the case with all the 6230i or only certain handsets....

as for the video RW and FF problem, i guess one of the only ways to get around it for now is to split the 50min file into smaller sections lasting maybe around 10 to 15 minutes. what software can split 3gp files?

can this phone assign a different ringtone for different contact so that we know who is calling simply by listening to the ringtone? 3310 can do that.

The manual says that when streaming videos or audio, it is possible to rewind or forward by using the right or left scroll button. has anyone who has watched streaming video or audio b4 been able to do that?

the menu in media player has a "RW and FF interval" option but it seems like it is there for display only.

I have a 6230 and the fast-forward/rewind works by holding down the up/down directions of the joypad. 'Right' is the same as pressing play - press it instead of the central bit if you sometimes press the wrong button and accidentally go on to the next track if paused half way through one, cos the ff/rwd stuff is a bit crap and takes forever (jumps 5seconds at a time). And sometimes causes problems, it'll just skip tracks too easily or I've even had it make the player crash before and need a reset! All just standard mp3s!

I only wish they'd added a "go to " option on 6230i's player (for listening to longer tracks/podcasts) but I like the improvement for the central select part of the joypad. I find it too easy to press the wrong part sometimes. That's just after playing with it in a shop, will be coming up for an upgrade in a month or two but not sure what I'm going for yet.

                            Hi,
I was thinking of buying the 6230i but, just wanted to know about the menu selection into the messaages, galery and so on. In the handbook it says that it has 3-D menu. It is glitz ie animated as some of the other brands or just a flat 2-d slection.

it's kinda interesting to know that there are actually people watching a full-length video from a screen that is just a little more than an inch wide... but, nevertheless, having FF/RW in Media Player (and even in Music Player) is actually a good thing. Hopefully, Nokia is listening.

It's a Masterpiece in today mobilephone.
Small in size but big in functions.
Second to none, best in the world.

There is no perfect phone in this world
but 6230i is close to it. Long Live 6230i

It is stupid that media player cannot RW or FF when watching a video clip, esp a long one e.g. 50 minutes.1stly we may not wish to watch from the beginning. 2ndly,imagine u are at 40 min and your phone rings, then u have to start from beginning again as there is no fast forward or goto time function. i hope that this problem can be corrected in future firmware update.

yes the mp3 in 6230i is definitely much better than the 6260. but 6260 can play wav and realmedia file while 6230i cannot. and the stupid FF and RW problem in the 6230i is not present in symbian os phones like the 6260.

boomshine, the 6260 plays mp3 in MONO :p while 6230i owners get to listen in high quality STEREO...

Amazing little phone has a tonne of features, everything you need unless your into 3G. Hate 3G phones to big and bulky and weigh your pocket down.

Battery life is good, charge it every 4 to 5 days, and I like messing with camera which is top notch and transferring stuff to the computer, mp3 in it is great too.

                                      A superb handset.
