Had it for 1 week, thought it was a very nice business phone w/good reception, camera, MP3, user friendly functions, and sync w/Outlook was very easy w/Bluetooth & IR. But after 1 week, I was a bit disappointed that the battery only last about 2 days of my usage and there is always an acho when I talk. Then I notice the back cover is a bit loose, and it became too annoying when I use the keypad or sms. I tried to exchange it for a new one at Broadway in HK, but notice the samething with the other one as well. Bad quality control. I know I can buy a better fitting cover for HK$25, but I was not going to take that for a brand new phone, so I exchanged it for a SE K750i. Much better built and camera, will see how it performs.

I recently changed my SEZ600 good but old moblie with new nokia6230i with the firmwere ver. 3.30 all your mentioned ascending problems seem gone In last 10 days of using this product I do face such problem ?

M M C!!!!! anyone who tells you that nokia MMC card is only ok up to 512, is talking from their behinds. I have a NOKIA 6230I and the MMC i am using is 1 GIGABYTE. Currently i have about 6 or 7 complete albums on it, which is fantastic. I use mine at work when there is no TV or radio,as the speaker volume and quality is good enough to compete with some very small radios.Have been using Magix ringtone maker to convert full albums into managable sizes for the phone, and it has worked faultlessly. The lines on the screen on startup I also get, but am not aware how I check my firmware version if anyone could enlighten me then that would be greatly APPRECIATED

Can anyone tell me how to update my firmware for this phone? Mine is currently 3.25.
I like this phone alot. Please help!

Rich, nothing helps. Like Paul said, it is the strange problem for NOKIA. I hate it. Even if you use "ringing" not "ascending" it seems doing same strange thing: about 3-4sec quietly and ascending like mad, it is so strange. I sell my 6230i today, and buy another phone. Don't buy this phone, if you don't want this strange problem toi happen with all your ringtones & sms tones (this is Nokia 6230i polyphonic and mp3 bug). Believe me, you will regret it. Good luck!

Hi Justinovicius, how if u put it to "ringing" instead of ascending, as seems like ascending tone will only starts fm soft to loud......

guys don't buy it, it doesn't worth the money compare camera & video quality with k750 and b impressed. I have one & i whant 2 sell it, not 2 good. I also have the ascending problem, try to make some space so the phone could fiind the mp3 faster.

The ascending ringtone problem is not only with MP3s but polyphonics also. Don't know why this strange thing happens in this remarkable phone. Really STRANGE...

Paul, I have read that you have the same problem about ascending mp3 when it is associated with a ringing/sms tone? If it is Nokia game, I swear, I hate NOKIA!!! If it is only a problem, that we could solve, It could make me happy for this time. Who knows anything about solving this problem, please write. Otherwise, I am regreting buying this 6230i, and I will sure sell it. Thanks for your ideas.

Hello! I have a problem with my Nokia 6230i, when I listen to mp3 the sound is good, but when I associate mp3 with a ringing tone, or sms tone it begin doing non-sense for some seconds it play too quietly and nothing helps when I try different options, it made me nervous about this phone, can you explain me what is happening?? Help me nokia fans, please!
