    Asma,

To make your speaker louder or softer is by using the side button on the left side of the screen. It's a bit vague and flat box. Press it up or down to set the volume. If you press the up button for a few seconds, it will ask if you want to activate Push To Talk function(only work if your network capable of it)

To copy from phone to sim, that depends on SIM capability, coz phone memory has 5 field for each name. Maybe that's the problem, SIM can't accept multi-field name(even it's blank)

      1. how do we lower/ raise speaker volume while talking??
      2. is it with me or the pic thru camera has so mamy spots on it!! it worse than 6600!!

      3. how do i copy contacts to my sim from phone memory?? when ever copying begins, it is abandoned half way. after 2 or three unsuccessful attempts, a note is displayed: target memory full. (although sim is empty!!)

I bought this phone abt a fortnight ago. the very next day all my contact numbers from my sim card was gone. i had to switched off and restarted the phone to all the numbers back. Why did it happen? Is it true that certain games cannot be downloaded because of different format? Otherwise, the phone is ok.

I think this phone is great, but reports are correct:
                1. poor battery life
                2. a little slow

I had previously been using the Nokia 6230b. THAT is a fast phone, and with a LOT less bugs to deal with. The 6230b doesn't have 1.3Mpixel camera, though (only VGA) and it's screen resolution is only 128x128 (not 208x208 like the 6230i). The camera on the 6230i is AWEFUL, though. Sooooo...

I would have to recommend the 6230b over the 6230i, though. Less bugs, faster, and SOLID.

i have the fone and think its great.... but over the last week or so things are happening to it..... the first time it just went to vibrate and then shut it self down.....and then the 2nd time i was changing my settings. .wallpaper... theme and screensaver.. etc...but when i went to change the theme it deleted all the themes instead of changing it over.... how do i get the themes back on my fone....
                  many thanks
                  sheila

                        Alex,

Maybe you should. N6230i is a complete package but like I said, if you're lucky you'll be happy. If not you'll get a bad power faillure unit which happens quite a lot.

                              Yay!

It's one year old phone coz 6230i was released in early 2005. and you can use 1GB or 2GB if you want(I saw it on the web), but no guarantee on the speed of operation.

Does anybody no of a web site to down load the software for the Nokia 6230i to which you can use the phone as a remote control via bluetooth to your PC to operate Windows Media Player. It can be done but how?

Well folks after my last note I searched the web for more info and I found a not from a guy named Aussie this is his note. "I have a temporary solution, if this helps anyone. Delete all your voice tags and turn your phone off and on. It still ascends if you have it on Max(5) volume - apparently this is a saftey feature. But all other volumes it works as it should." Thanks Aussie. I hope this is helpful to anyone else with the sam problem cause its a great phone......Peely

The ringing tone on my Nokia 6230i has gone to asending somehow. When I read some of the comments regarding this it seems that it is always on asending. Well it cant be because Mine has only just started to do this this week and I cant get it back. Does anybody know how?

this phone won't disappoint you. but if you're using a 512mb mmc card like me, don't blame it for being slow. when phones get too good, speed has to compromise.
