Am getting 6233 as a standby phone 2mrw. Any one has a reason to dissuade me?? tell me before i get it...

iv had 6233 since August 2006, the Pop-Port connector still works fine with Earphones, even though my charger slot has packed in abit but still works.
its Tough but not Durable enough.

I own an SE K700 for 2 years and the thin gold layer of the connectors is partially gone so I have some problems when connecting the handsfree and the charger.
1 Does the same thing happen with the connectors of 6233?
2 Anyways, how can it be prevented?
Pls answer to both my questions.

obviously Hmmmmm, so your 6233 set automatically to Hindi ? .wohooooo thats coool your Network provider must of done that.

hey all......
yesterday i noticed a weird thing about my phone.
my phone language is set to AUTOMATIC...so that i can receive messages in english and hindi!
bt..last night a message" sim card activision failed"(hope gt the spelling right)was displayed on screen and language was changed from AUTOMATIC to HINDI!
nw itz working properly!
is it a network related problem?

Get Real man, we all know Nokia is Number 1
we all have different tastes in Phones and we all want different things in Phones
thats why there is 5 Companies to choose from SE,Nokia,Samsung,Motorola,LG,Apple
Do you Nokia fans Understand this ?
i own a 6233 myself i dont like just becuase of the *NOKIA* Label on the front of it, i like because it has what i need in a Phone
not becuase NOKIA is Number 1 !

Xavier do you have forgotten about nokia e 90 communicator. This is the powerful business phone ever made. Just watch the specifications of E 90 and you will definately admire this phone

You're most welcome...
It will save you more battery life if you disable the screensaver. Same as for animated wallpapers (.swf)

Kidding aside..yeah, I just updated my firmware yesterday at the office (corporate LAN)so it's faster. The update itself lasted for 12mins! Check at Nokia Europe for the firmware v5.60 update.

really?? you have updated from 5.10??how???
last time i usedmy phone and checked its net speed at www.speedtest.net. it shows 1000 kbps, but in reality, our phone is not capable for that, so it gives me a much slower download rate,how did you upgrade your 6233?

my phone's firmware is 5.43 RM-145
n m not facing any problems!
btw if we don't use anomated screensaver.....still phone's battery will get quickly dried?

Here are some changes that I observed when I updated my firmware to v5.60
1. Some says, the battery life got better on v5.60. For me, I still get a full 4 days when my fone is fully charged with average use even before I had the update (v5.10).
2. Spam filter added for email application
3. User Interface and Browsing through the net using GPRS/3G is a bit faster than previous firmware versions. I usually surf the net using my 6233 by connecting it to my laptop. I noticed that the usual speed is 460kbps, now I even get 500 plus more kbps. I'm not sure if it is because of the firmware update or my network provider is having problems or something.
NOTE: If you're not having problems with your present firmware, there's no need to update it.

@gunzz= first of all the SE launched P series to combat nokia E series not N series, it launched walkman and cybershot brands like W and K series to combat nokia N series but all faileddddddddddddddddd, @dani= hy why r u so upset u havent post a comment for sooooo long. @nikz= so whats going onnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

people who have upgraded firmware version from 5.43 or 5.10 to 5.60.......
r there any modifications?
does it offers extra stuff?
to all techy guys...people come to this forum seeking answers to their querries and u all ARE capable of giving required answers but there is a steaming fight going on on the best mobile brand!
please....people need help and answers1
stop bashing other brands!i don't think any cellphone brand offers ALL features in low price and with attractive design!
please stop fighting and blaming each other!

dear shantanu, sadly it seems 6233 doesnt detect 4gb>_<
you can install games pretty easily though just copy and paste them on your memory card!!!
no need for antivirus as 6233 isnt susceptible to any type of virus(series 40 in general)
you can install applications and games in "java" format hehe just go to dotsis youll find lots of neat apps and games there^_^
