Hi nokia6233 users, i have this phone for 4 months and it came with firmware 4.* (not sure) and i updated it with 5.10 which worked fine. Now i updated it to 5.43 and nokia updater could not finsh update although phone is working and displays 5.43. Update slider came almost to end and then says that it lost connection to phone and that i should remove and reinstall batery. But when i do that it and run updater again it does the same. My PC is runing on vista, maybe thats the problem?? I did 5.10 update from XP. Now my display is not turning off... Did someone had that problem??? Please help...

hey does this phone support wireless handfree its says that it have A2DP?

emma use the rear camera for video call or use a mirror for you to see what's shown in your screen

n6233-well basically yes 6500 have a bit better cam because of it's autofocus and macro feature aside from the higher res, same video btw and it has tv-out function hehehe
and it has more internal memory and is supposedly equipped with a newer s40 user interface
I've been able to use a 5300 and a 6280 both doesn't seem to be as tough as d600 in the sliding mechanism part sooo...Im not really betting on 6500 being of a better build quality than the 6233(which doesnt have any, and it is solidly built hehehe)
in the nseries when using 3g, while in video call you have the option of using the back cam simultaneously with the front cam
same principle applies with the 6233 only it has a back camera
so basically you can see the other person but the other person can only see where the back camera is facing hehehe ^_^

I have recently bought Nokia 6233. Could anyone please tell me, how long the average battery life is (not the one stated by the producer but in reality). Also, is it possible to turn off 3G mode on this phone so it would only work in GSM network?

so the nokia 6500 just lacks steroo speakers and a differnt form factor dan the nokia 6233. 6500 slider has a better steel biuld. and a better camera as well as internal memory and da latest series 40 5th edition?

well if anything 6500 is almost like an "indirect upgrade" of the 6233
sooo basically 6500 is better in almost everything aside from it's form factor
6233 is smaller hehehehe and quite compact and can be used as a spy phone more than 6500(well if you're into that kind of thing) heheheheh

6233's strong points against the w810i
VGA video recording
(12 times the bitrate and 8 times the video size of the w810)
stereo speakers hehehe you havent heard good cell phone speakers if you havent tried 6233's yet hehehe
3g=video call and faster web browsing experience
menu display 240x320 compared to w810 176x220 heheheh=nice graphics of the menu^_^
and if this matters at all, 6233's(238 mhz) processor is twice more powerful than w810's(112 mhz) I believe with this speed it can handle more external memory(?)
big and soft keypad for texting ^_^
series 40 3rd gen hehehehehe it seems that the series 40 is a bit more advanced than what it used to be as compared to S.E.s operating system which has been around for quite awhile now
what I mean is series 40 seems to be a bit more customizable than S.E's O.S. hehehehe
well for making themes anyways hehehehe
w810's key features against 6233
autofocus cam and macro with flash (it can take pictures of small texts)
better music player application as compared to 6233's simple music player
S.E's O.S. has been tried and tested and if you have been an S.E. fan before this iteration delivers it in spades hehehehe
1000 contacts as compared to 6233's 500 contacts
though this is debatable, I believe w810 is supplied with a better headset than 6233's default headset
so there you go hehehe hoppefull you'll pick whichever is the best for you ^_^

I like this nokia 6233, one of the better ones i have ever worked with. Not much problems and the sound quality is off the hook
