Hi All,
After pondering wether to ditch it or fix it, i've decided to give it another go.
My 6233 is playing up quite a lot. I mean, guys, what good is a phone if you are stuck when you need to make a call? I love the "extras" - MP3, radio, camera, bla bla. But a phone is a phone. Nothing more.
Mine has been dropping calls, and also finding it hard to relocate the network. Sometimes I get a text from Orange saying I've missed a call, although my phone is showing 2 bars! This is not good. The second problem, probably the worst yet, is the volume during a conversation. I've said before that it was ok; but when it comes down to it - it is not good! I had my phone next to an old samsung and the Samsung is sooo much louder you have to decrease the volume to 7 or 8 not to get that sharp voice in your earhole.
Therefore, I know i was being optimistic here for a long time, but I'm gonna wait and see how my 6233 comes back (in 2 week's time). If it is any better, it'll survive the chop. If not, goodbye Nokia.

As you can see I was making comments / suggestions as I am an owner of a 6233 phone. However mine has been sent to repair today, please see above. I will come back and let you all know how it fared and how it
performs.
I suspect Nokia will re-run the firmware and hope the phone gets better. I hope they put a little more effort in it.
The 6233 is a brilliant phone, everyone who wons one will say that. But a phone has to work, as simple as that!

hi richard. does ur fne give problems whn blutoothin files, videoing, and sumtimes the fne may freeze and restart. i had the nokia 6280 and it has gave me the sme problem. do nokia test there fnes properly b4 shipping. i wonder hw they dnt cum across these problems and ship there products off.

hii i gt a problem with this fne. whn i record a video it displays hw long i gt left for recording on the top but the recordin stops with time still remainin sayin "unable to save file" does any1 else experience these problems. and i tried blutoothin a file 2 a m8 and his fne is a samsumg and whn the file was sent it didnt work. whn i was searching for blutooth devices his fne didnt show. whn i restarted both fnes his device appeared. does any1 experience these problems. shud i tke it bak to the shop and upgrade the firmware. mines is v.70

The Sony Ericsson K800i, that can do the amount of SMS you require. Also, with all the bugs in the 6233, I am pleased I can upgrade the software on the SE online from the phone itself. Not that I have found it is necessary, as it is very stable.
I love my Nokia's, but they have really let us down with this model :(

This phone is comparable with K610i/m/V630; I think.

Since 6233 can only store 500 contacts in the internal memory and another 250 can be stored in SIM, is it possible to store additional contacts (beyond this 750) in the memory card and use them as conveniently as the ones in memory / SIM.
Will appreciate a quick response since I need to buy a phone tomorrow.

OMG what great phone !!!! Guys this phone is simple in use but it has almost everything!
it can take video in 640x480 resolution omg its video's quality is better than the one of my 3.2 megapixel digital camera !!! it kicks ass!
i got the black one and its looking hot everybody liked my new nokia and they were impressed seeing its capabilities and they are all like "like this fone.. gonna buy it too" :-P
Great sound quality i'm telling u i listened tomy mp3s on my phone very loud and the sound sounds really loud clear !
I recently bought an extra micro SD card of 1GB size and it can take 2000 pics and record up to 1 hour of video !!! OMG guys i'm telling u this phone is my best cell phone i ever had!!!!
now thats some phone that kicks ass (buy it now u wont regret it!!)

Dear all friends
I got to see the demo and was delighted to see the performance but yesterday when i got to buy it the stuff that was opened up at Nokia retail stores in a sealed box had to tell us a different story.The piece was entirely different from the demo version.
1 RINGER VOLUME IS EXTRAORDINARY LOWWWWW.
2 The sound volume through stereo speakers was low very low.
3 The MP3 controls were visible over screen in demo version but nor so in Pack one.
4 Some one suggested me it could be bcos of the software versions difference.
Can anybody concretely tell me what is the latest sofrware version available for 6233 in INDIA? Ultimetely i dumped the set and came home bare handed as the volume of the ringer is a totally waste.Are Nokia guys listening to take care of my Grievance?

Hi nokia 6233, I too have encounter the restart problem twice..1st after playing the Rally game / 2nd when playing MP3 thru speaker. Somedays back, someone mentioned this may due to RAM problem & I assume it is.

Random dude...I have heard that the SE K800 can hold over 1000 sms.
I have one, but don't have that many SMS on it (thankfully!)

Can anyone recommend any good smartphones out there? any brands will do.
i heard that only smartphones can hold more than 1000 sms's, im in dire need of that kind of phone
and i wanna know if this phone nokia 6233 can hold more than 1000 sms's?

Bought one impressed by the features upon charging the batteries the phone got extremely hot so much so the scratch guards on the lens & screens wrinkeled & came off have since retuned to the dealer. who debited me Indian Rs.2500 (approx USD 50)

But you must know first how is the performance between 2 models. If they are similar than:
I think if you need smartphone than choose E50 but if you don't need that than choose 6233.

Guys,
I bought it from the Singapore market to use it in the US and have been very disappointed. I was waiting for this phone ever since I saw the spec and was very excited when I first saw it. I just love the phone and the features and the screen but the reception sucks and thats mainly because Cingular uses 1900 band only as a backup and T-mobile coverage sucks in general. I have changed service providers(from Cingular to T-mobile) to just keep this phone but ultimateley decided to ditch it because of the coverage. I wish this phone had the 850 band. Why does Nokia ignore the US market for these phones??

Andrew....If this is a big purchase for you, I would seriously consider the SE K00i, Nokia have really let us down with this one, we are beta testing it for them...Really disappointed in what must be my tenth Nokia in as many years.

A great dilemma, donno for what to go, either for Nokia 6233 or Nokia E50! Features ar similar (camera I dont care), + for E50 - it reads MS Office docs and has PDF suport and price for it here in Latvia is the same as for 6233!
What to do?
P.S. Not going to buy a cell so soon, had an unexpected pay-out! Just want to hear your opinions!
