i think the series 40 3rd edition may enable more powerful java application though probably not as powerful as symbian ones. the menu icons look exactly like the 6230i ones. i do hope that it doesnt hav bugs like the 6230i. i also hope that the media player could enable rewind and forward of video/midi and allow playing in the background for mp3/midi(like the nokia symbian phones' media player). because it is not symbian probably cant install apps to make it play wma files also.no offline mode? hope that the camera is good. when will it be release? anytime soon?

What kind of applications can this phone use? I understand that it cant be much cause it doesnt use Symbian but does anyone know any "useful" applications that can be downloaded/bought to this phone?
Another question: Do you think the firmware might be buggy?

that's what i thought, record time should be as much as the memory can hold, however there are some sites that say "1 minute" in the specs. (maybe this is the recording mode when there is no memory card?) anyway i want this phone when it comes out, i've been watching it for months!

this phone has 2mp camera and 128mb memory card but you say just 1 minute video record how can u tell this?? is this make any sense??somebody just tryin' to diss this phone but just tell da truth it's da best.but we still have no clue about when it will release...

s40 you can't install symbian programs just java microedition that are not great and slow, theme support is a bit different its way cooler on S60, TI for microprocssors, in symbian theres a way to install n-gage games but not tried it yet!, oh but nokia s40 are now comming with 3d audio and good resolutions and are smaller because they need less hardware

Well I e-mailled o2 online in the UK and they said there was a tentative date of the 5th December for the Nokia 6270

6270 is one of the best of all ok but when will it release i'm tired of waitin' this phone.they say 4th quarter of 2005 here comes 2006 but i still can't use my 6270.......

so if you do not have any need for the second camera on the 6280...then the 6270 would be the better choice right?

The difference between 6270 & 6280 is that 6270 has dual speaker and 3d sound while 6280 has 3G and 2 camera that's the difference so if u like 3g so got 6280 but if u like hearing music in a great sound so 6270 and good luck and i hope they released this month
