ONE MORE THING:
I don't know if in Europe, the cell. towers are located very two blocks, but in the United States it' not like that.
That means that 20% signal lack in the buildings with tough iron construction is CRUCIAL!

After using my newly bought nokia 6280 for 3 days, the phone's display went dead and would not restart. the dealer replaced the ribbon wire connecting the display to the phone and it worked again. good to hear that nokia is replacing all the 6280 models. i got a samsung d600 for the meantime whle i await the availability of the upgraded 6280.

Dear all, I've just got my 6280 for 3 months and am fairly satisfied except for some minor irritating features, like inability to use nokia themes suitable for other symbian OS.
But my biggest problem is the very tiny font size for email messages and I've tried all possible settings without success. Grateful if I could get some tips from you.
cheers

In addition, this is my e-mailadress for any ideas you might have.
And oh yes, i do have a external memory card of 512 MB, so that can't be the problem (i think)

Hi,
since a couple of days i'm the proud owner of a 6280. Everything is cool, but....
When a friend tries to send me a mp3 (via bluetooth) which is larger than 3 mb his phone (a Samsung D500) quits transmitting. Another friend of mine has sent me a mp3 (with his Samsung D600) of 10 mb and there were no problems at all. I got it in under a minute! I'm wondering if this is a problem originates from my phone or is there something wrong with the config of my friends phone??
Please help!!

I've had the 6280 for a few months, and very happy. Some downers thou: Original software is slow and freezes (flash the phone to the latest version 03.41 which now works wonders), battery life (approx 2 days when using camera, mp3, etc), and converting video clips to .3gp (which i find annoying). Apart from that its save me a few xtra $$ by combinding an mp3 player, flashdrive, and phone in one. Also buy a bigger external miniSD drive (64mb is given but i have a 512)

hi Danny ,
Well ... you are right .. the software it`s cool ... but if u transfer via bluetooth or infrared items that are larger then the internal memory , it brakes ( mine broken twice of this reason)
Cheers

I have already posted my full review on this phone (post marked 2006-05-22 12:29 mGqa) but I cant help seeing a handful of users complaining/asking about a buggy/faulty OS.
Well, I have used most of the features quite heavily, and so far, this is the most stable operating system I have ever seen in a mobile phone.
I can appreciate the fact that some users may have encountered problems, it happens. I would suggest to those users to go to their dealer and have it repaired/replaced, because as far as I can tell after about one month of heavy usage, the OS is rock solid and VERY intuitive, unlike previous Nokia versions.
