it comes with one small pamphlet which says the unit supports 2gb mini sd card...i'm using a 1gig kingston card.
it also supports photo call,i've assigned pictures (jpeg, gif or video files)on some of my contacts.unfortunately, it will be saved on the phone itself (internal memory which only has 6gb but it comes with pre installed apps and folders-2.4gb that you can not delete)...the remaining memory now is only 2.7gb but the phone still works fast.
the headset with stereo sound is acceptable but it would be nicer if its hi-fi like n91.
2 to 3 days battery life.
it reboots once in a while.
nevertheless, i still prefer this fone...for now.

So, is anyone else just fed up with waiting for Orange to release the Nokia 6280. I've been with Orange for 6 years now, however, out of interest took at peek at the O2 web site and couldnt believe how much more they offer on their tarrifs, not only that, they have a rather funky looking Samsung Z400 due for release in June - were all used to waiting for Orange month on end, however, the new Samsung looks alot more stylish and packed with a 2mp camera and 3G! FAB! I'm jumping ship!!!

s**t no symbian. i was hoping this phone to have s60 but it has advanced version of s40 i chainged my mind I'm gonna get my self N70

hmmm...alex ur phone also got reception prob? i just did an exchange 2 days back for this prob, just wondering whether ur using a 3G sim card?? cuz after getting my new set,my network signal is rather weak though not to e extend of no network like e previous set...btw i'm using a non 3G 2 in 1 simcard right now, dunno whether it will be affected...

I've used the phone for 5 weeks and it's been working fine. I used it for 3G Internet as I've no fixed line at home. In general, my phone works > 12 hours a day, multitasking among voice calls, video calls and Internet.
Got a Kingston 1GB MiniSD for a week and that's working fine too. WARNING: DO NOT password protect or your card will go 'missing' from phone AND PC. Nokia Centre in S'pore says this is Kingston's problem, but I'm not so sure about that!
Only dislike is camera doesn't auto focus, else generally it's a great phone.

Just because your phone went wrong. doesnt mean its the worst phone ever. Phones DO inevitably go wrong. It just so happens your one went wrong so close to the purchase date...

Hi Atul,
Yes u can format it on the phone.It will create 2 main folder that is Image & Video. If you had read my previous post, i do not recommend you setting password to the mini-sd.
Slot in the Mini-sd and got to 'galery' and u will find 'memory card'. Point to it and get the option to display 'format card' Cheers!

Hi I work for a UK network and we have withdrawn the Nokia 6280 due to software problems at the moment this is why you might have probs with the phone shutting down.

Hi all,
Im from spore and i just bought a 6280. And just 1 day, my phone has auto shut down and restarted itself twice. Moreover, sometimes the phone has no reception at all. I need to off and on the phone again to gain back my reception (all these while im at the same place). Another thing is tat the battery is full in the morning, and den half in the evening and i have not even started listening to mp3 yet. Im going to Nokia to haf this fixed. If problem persists, im going to make a scene at all nokia service centres in singapore.
This is my 2nd phone from nokia that has the exact same problem with my 7650. Had it fixed yet problem persists. At that time, i was lucky to win a hp from a lucky draw and sold the 7650 to a shop. And hence i did not pay much attention to it. Now, having this 6280 is the BIGGEST mistake of my life. I will Update u guys on the visit to nokia care centre.

Hi bbb,
That is absolutely true bcos each themes comes with a preset wallpaper,screensaer,tones so if a new themes were to be activated,simply go to settings to have ur preferred wallpapers,screensavers or tones. :)

N series are running on Symbian where else 6280 is running on series40.
6280 is posible to have java based applications installed.

All 6280s,
Pls take note if u d/L new THEMES 2 ur 6280 & then start changing it, ur CURRENT SETTINGS will b changed 2 original default settings.
