recently, i've just bought from my colleague (used phone), been using for several months, and it is really a good phone, only sometime it hangs(rarely) when quitting from a game, you know..he has been using it for almost 3 years, and still going strong, recommend it for those who wants a cheap and good feature phone xD

I had this phone but i tried to update it and it neva worked since. this happend in 2005 mannnnn..still have the phone....won't turn on!

I have been having major phone traumas lately ! so i hooked out my old 6280 its great apart from one thing it does not hold many messages i have a 1gb memory card which is hardly used in it and i hyave cleaned up my phone to free up more space at present it only seems to hold about 25 messages sent and recieved is this normal ? ideally i would like to hold more as i am a heavy texter .

bogz third post, 16 Oct 2008(hope this one helps!) for those having problem with Camera... moreei, thank you so much for posting this information. its been a big help of mine because right now the camera of my phone is not working, its sez operation failed..right now im not changing my mind to buy a new phone because i really love this phone, its very fashionable and very cool...thanks a lot..

Trish, 03 Jan 2009whats the difference bet. 6280 and 6288??6280 is gsm mobile and 6288 is cdma mobile

For the price, this phone's features can be considered good. However, features isn't everything -- robustness and reliability are very important for those who use their phone more than occasionaly or lightly.

The Nokia 6280 is absolutely not a heavy-use phone. The slide mechanism has failed on two of these for me in about 18 months (both times). The main symptom is the screen stopping working, as it's connected to the phone's 'brain' via the slide. My first phone split in two!

There have been many software problems as well, such as the phone crashing when opening an MMS message, or running dog slow when more than about 300 SMSes are stored in the Sent folder. (But I had to figure that out myself -- otherwise, the phone will just dumbly keep accumulating messages there.)

So, this is strictly a light user phone. I'm planning on switching to a Nokia E71.

ive used this phone and i really do think its the worse phone ever made. Its had no reception, kept shutting off and the memory was diabolical. Even a 6230 had better features and performance. But the later version teh 6288 is the best phone i ever had. Well done nokia
