I've had this phone for 5 wks now and overall it's a decent phone. As far as a 3G handset goes it has to be the best avaialble at the moment it terms of function and size. However within the next few months there are lot of slimmer 3G phones coming out which will make the 6280 look like old hat ! Main gripes I have with this phone are 1) It crashes occasionly 2) Battery life is bout the worst I've ever known. 3) The enhanced voice tags are a waist of space.

However the main reason I bought this model was for it's 3G function and relatively small size. I would have no intention of buying this phone on any other network other than 3. There's no reason to buy this as a 2G phone as there are better alternatives out there !

If you haven't yet purchased this phone but are thinking of doing so, if you can wait another month or so for other models to arrive, then wait. Personally I think the BenQ-Siemens EF81 is a much better looking phone and looks to be made much better with pretty much everything the 6280 has (minus a flash).

Just bought the phone 5 days ago. Assign a ring tone and test for volume, but there's no sound. The phone just keeps in vibrating, although I’ve exit the “SETTINGS”, “TONES” module… I switch “OFF” the phone and yet it stills vibrating … Is that a manufacture default?

Another thing I found out is that when you exit at the “TONES”, “RING VOLUME” selection without saving the phone keeps on ringing. Should it stop ringing ?

Love the black version (think it looks better) but the silver version is just so enticing now because everywhere you look everyone seems to have the black version. I was hoping they'd save the black for last - oh well.

Oh btw - the price of the phone at plemix has now dropped to $499 (it was still $529 yesterday!). Thats a full $100 dollars cheaper than the next cheapest carrier (they all come with the 3 logo btw). I'm guessing that they will increase the price once they start releasing the non 3 handsets (i.e. the silver version)...

Hi Leon - thats not surprising to hear since they offered it on such a low priced plan i.e. in Australia $14 capped over 2 years. I've contacted Plemix and asked them why are they selling a phone obtained from 3 outright and unlocked - just wanted to know if it was legal - and they informed me that the phones are actually residual stock from 3, hence the 3 logo on their phones as well as the significant reduction in the debut price (originally slated to be 599 but then dropped to 529).

Had the phone for 2 weeks and have found it to be one of the best I have ever had. Had a SE Z800i for 8 months and it was CRAP, sorry but it had all sorts of problems and the software to connect to PC was average.

Nokia is lighter, the menu better laid out and the features are outstanding.

Can't ff or rewind video (no biggie for me don't watch video's on the phone) and probably the only thing that has me a little worried is the slide...not sure how long it will last BUT time will tell.

If you considering a new phone this is well worth a look.

In my opinion doesn't the video quality decide that the phone is a "high class slider" or not.
If you want a good video buy a video cam...

Sorry fred but im a seller with all networks and the 6280 on three is selling out all other stock 10 to 1 and we are struggling to meet stock levels!
People get the phone and like it so muh that there mum, dad, grandad and friends all want one too on the same deal.
We had to change the lowest package from VTT 350 to VTT 700!!
Not seen a rush like this for a phone since the 6230 was released nearly 3 years ago!
It is a wicked handset tho and three have really improved so its a really good pair up.
Dont think the demand would be as big on 2.5g networks tho as this phone is made for 3g services.
other networks 3g coverage is very poor in comparison to 3 (They have 88% coverage compared to vodaphones 55% which is the next best in 3G)

                            So interesting.
But if you refesh the software I think it problem will be solved.

Loosk like 3 is pushing really hard to get rid of their residual stock. So many stores out there are selling the 6280 unlocked for much lower than the rrp.$599... HA! I can just sit back and think about how stupid Nokia are for allowing them exlcusive rights for the first three months.

I have had this phone for one week from 3. so far i am quite impressed although a little unsure of how to use many of its features. There was no manual in box! How do you put songs onto it? Is there a way of showing sent time of messages without having to search? Also it keeps coming up with Check Info Service every few minutes - why and how do i check this?
