nokia uses Texas intruments 220Mhz proccesors, that "comparable" with Intel Scale in speed. they are more powerful proccesors but they just simply eat the battery. so they are not used widely yet. nokia is pulling alot of software into their smartphones, even if they are slow, they are faster than any conventional phone, Check the review of the motorola rokr 2 and the nokia 3250 you will see, in 1.0 motorola won ,
and in 2.0 and 3d nokia did. getting almost twice the speed than the SE k750i.

    Gday again. battery life has lasted me 50 hours while using most features (bluetooth, radio, changing themes, making/receiving calls & sms's, camera-video&still pictures). For an hour and a half ive been playing mp3s, they battery was on its losest level that entire time and fianlly ran out.
    Another thing i found out yesterday is the stereo personal headest is only for listening to music, it doesnt have a mike for making voice calls in your car grrrrrr.
    I guess they want you to buy a bluetooth headset, the loudspeaker is no good to me as i have a loud WRX so anyone i call hears my car rather than me.
    My firmware software version is 3.40 and still no reset problems

      Hmm..Wonder why we are all having problems with this issue? The restarting? I also just tried to change my Profile as a matter of curiosity related to your post and ..wham! It restarted? Strange...

      Can this phone recieve software updates? Maybe Nokia should send one out.

        I have a problem with my nokia 6280, every time I swich off the phone and swich it on again it takes 45 seconds to start up. It has been replaced but still have the same problem. Can some body help please and tell me is this the way that this phone works or there is a way to fix this problem Thank you very much.

          I know, it keeps restarting itself. With mine, i can't change the profile, when i click on another profile other than silent, it just restarts. Quite annoying!

            Hi, I got this phone 3 days ago it honestly has been awesome phone! I do not regret getting it at all!

            Only few minor problems wondered if anyone knew?
            1) Having slighty trouble with the 'red' End Call button? Mines clicking alot? Especially after pressing the 'green' Answer button? Anyone else find this?
            2) Tried watching a video and once clicked on phone restarted itself? Also when I was about to read a text message this morning it just restarted itself? Came back on though working fine - Whats this about?

              Faulty and when i got a replacement from the shop that is even worse. Battery last less than a day even with out use. This morning it was sat on the desk and when i picked it up to text it was red hot and the battery had almost drained.

              Build quality is poor, nokia support even worse and manual doesn't explain any thing just what buttons to press to turn things on and off nothing to explain what the function does.

              Will have to try get another one when i go back to the shop and hope that isn't faulty which seems unlikely.

                  Hey. Im interested in purchasing this phone from 3 Australia and am wondering whether
                  1. The phone has a slow processor (like the Nokia N70) and
                  2. How many sms messages can this phone store?

                    Gday, im on the 3 network in Australia and have had the nokia 6280 for a week now.
                    The only problem i have encountered is the dust on the inside of my front screen and yes the back is rather hard to remove, just persist and be gentle. I would not recommend taking the front cover off though, generally most phones have 'one-time' seals built in so an authorized repairer will know if you have attempted to open the phone yourself, THIS MOST OFTEN VOIDS YOUR WARRANTY.
                    Thankfully mine is not resetting itself like some of you unlucky people have experienced. How do i check the firmware software version on this phone to see if it differs from the rest of you?
                    The battery life SO FAR has been much better than my SE z800. Its been on full for 24 hours now and thats with writing about 5 messages, making/receiving 4 phone calls, viewing various videos i have recorded today and general phone browsing.
                    I contacted nokia about the correct charging procedure and they wrote back "In response to your enquiry, we strongly suggest the first charging of a BP-6M battery with the AC-4 charger for about 1 hour and 45 minutes while the phone is in the standby mode." They manual further writes that maximum battery performance is only acheived after 2 or 3 full charges and discharges. I have so far follwed the above procedure three times as recommended in the manual. Standby mode is when the phone is first turned on without any applications running.
                    Also in regards to the carry cases that are advertised by 3 in Australia, they use a fairly strong magnet to make the case stay shut.
                    I dont know for certain, but i beleive that the magnet is too strong. When i get a phone call, sometimes as i take the phone out of the case, the call is ended and does not even register as a missed call on my phone, Its very worrying. My SE z800's front screen would turn itself off sometimes when i removed it from the case. Personally i would stay away from these magnetically sealed carry cases, however i am finding it hard to find another case that fits the 6280, sigh... Anyone have any suggestions of where to find a cheap non-magnetic leather case?
                    The only other problem is that i takes about 1-2 minutes to retrieve my emails. It took
                    at maximum 20 seconds on my SE z800, i doubt this is a network problem so i will be emailing nokia about it.
                    Otherwise this is the best phone i have ever had, the screen is great, the 2mp camera is great (though it screams out for some sort of auto focus software) and slide phones always look so cool dont they ;-)...

                      Craig - read this page! There is plenty of discussion and even a quote directly from Nokia "Customer Care" (that's an oxymoron I think!) that says they do not have FF/Rew and no plans to fix it.

                        This phone seems to be very cool with the quality camera and all, but I can´t find any good reviews of it except for the one at www.mobile-review.com. When is this site going to make a decent review? My current phone is the nokia 7610 and i want to know if it´s really worth changing it to this...

                            it has no games because (three)wants you to download it from theire f wap!!!!its great phone and have good qaulity pictuers and i used computer wallpapers on its screen

                              Looks as though the "3" network as got the first batch of these 6280s an peoples having trouble with them so Nokia as realised an trying to repair it software before the other networks can release this phone i went into my Vodafone shop an the lady says it should be out on the 1st March,go to www.mobile review.com to read what they say about the phone before you buy it

                                1) you cant take pics with the front camera

                                2) you use the program thatr was included ULEAD video toolbox to encode avi to 3gp

                                make sure you change the sounds to AAC because AMR sounds terrible, but by doing that, the size of the file will be pretty big

                                also, dont expect good quality when encoding

                                  Help if anyone can please!

                                  1.) How do I take pictures with the small FRONT camera? (Used for video calling)
                                  2.) Can I encode .avi movie files to .3gp (if that is what the phone accepts)???

                                      isn't this a midrange phone? well nokia high end phones are the S60 series the s40 are most of them midrange

                                        Just got the phone and its great, but does anyone seem to have a problem with the card reader, as its not recognising the one bundled with it??
