Looks like several people are finding the same problem with regard to no FF/Rew. I'm amazed that one or two seem to shrug this off as no big deal. It's a joke! It's 2006 and this is a brand new phone - they've been slagged off for two years on other models for not including FF/Rew capabilities.
To me it makes it unusable... imagine you're watching a move, you're an hour into it and you have to turn it off for any reason. The only way to pick it up again is to sit through the first hour and wait till it gets to where you left off. Come on! That's pathetic.
Since the Three (Hutchison) network uses video playing as a selling point and includes a screenshot in it's glossy that shows a media player with full controls, I think I'll go them for misrepresenting their product.

I've spoken to a number of Orange stores, and it should be available from them by the end of the month...Grrr. Orange Email Support:
"I am delighted to confirm that the Nokia 6280 is being reviewed by Orange and the release date is sometime in February, although may I advise that this is subject to change. This is only because the reviewed handsets go through a rigorous testing stage."
It's not going to arrive this week - that's confirmed by all three Orange stores I've visited in the U.K but they seem hopeful it will arrive soon. One guy in the Vodafone store said it would be end of the month for them.

For some stupid reason in gallery i put a password on the memory card but when you try accessing the memory card, it doesn't ask for a password, please help

I have heard that Nokia are having big software problems with the phone and the end of Feb release date for all other English networks I was given may well be a little further in the future. (this was info from Vodafone, so may just be them).

Got a 6280 on 3 and very impressed only probs are no rw/ff in media player and dust getting under the screen. However was able to sort the dust prob by removing front cover and cleaning it, to do this u have to slide the phone open and slowly apply presssure to the two clips at the top, there are also two clips at the bottom. WARNING: Be very careful if u attempt this, cover is delicate and will break if forced too hard!!!

According to GSMExpress the Nokia 6280 will be available in week 10 in the Netherlands.

exactly what i cant believe, such a super powerful multimedia phone and it dosnt have the most basic function, enabling to ff/rw while whatching recorded videos,
i mean music can be ff/rw why couldnt they do it for videos.
Dose anyone know a way to make this work!!!!

i found a good idea to protect the screen without scretch.
just go to buy the best quality IPOD screen guide. then cut it yrself. im guarantee sure well protected. i bought a new ipod video with tat screen protector too.. after a 2months, stil looked new! tat is my opinion. u can go to buy better screen protector for 6280. but i think IPOD screen protector better, bcoz u cant really see the plastic!

Generally very happy with the phone. Main problem is the button to connect incoming calls or disconect calls on the headset doesn't work. I also would like to know if the phone can use a 1 G miniSD card or is the 512 Mg the biggest? I think I have some dust under the screen too.

Nic, you said "just press the FF or RW button". The problem is that there is no obvious FF or RW button. I've tried all the available keys without success. M.O.B. suggested using the navigation key, but that doesn't work either.
I can't believe that Nokia could be dumb enough to put all those features in a handset but then not give you basic control of playing a video. It makes that whole app pretty much useless IMHO.

yes dust under the screen and my profiles reset every time i turn my phone off. my sharp 902 was far better!

Just spotted on the O2 website coming soon page, they've changed it to March.
I know every network is saying the same but this is really starting to do my head in :-(

just click tat rw/ff button and hold it.. the media player will rw and ff!
this phone doesnt hav symbian. its call series 40.
i just get the phone early today, the headset quite su*ks, the whold phone looked not that quality, especially the case. the slider looks safe. i think this is a better phone for business man.. not gammers. bcoz its really fit/suites for ppl who like database and organising..
overall, i think its improved..but stil cant compare with other cellphone quality. performance and functional are well enuf. the most important is ...this phone WORK FASTER than n70 or other new model in symbian 60..80 90. ofcourse 6280 not a symbian phone, but.. stil working fine like 6230. FAST is everythings.
at last.. the camera.. >< camera is good, camera is good. but when u take video in indoor or dark places.. that's TERRIBLE compared with other phone.
im using 3.4v fireware too.. now, nothings happen! no problem..
faster go get one if u likes good functional phone. ^^ peace

just spoke with orange and they have told me that the nokia 6280 wont be released as promised tomorow!! typical. realy tempted just to go with 3 now!
