i want to know about backlight time too, by the time your halfway into reading a msg the light goes off.

Why does the nokia website not say much about this phone 6280 compared to he N70 which has many pages? is this just a prototype gone wrong?

There's not much to chose between the 2. The 6280 has a much bigger screen a different OS and an Infrared port. How important these features are to you will probably decide which of the 2 you chose. And of course the N70 is now available on all networks whereas the 6280 is only available on 3 at the moment.

hey im tryin to pick between N70 and 6280. other than the symbian that the N70 has, is there much difference? and nokias webite doesnt really brag much about the 6280 as much as the N70. Does this mean something?

I have just tried out the 6280 in a '3' store in the uk, the first thing i noticed is that its not that heavy, feels really nice, looks good, carmera v good, 64mb internal and 64mb card.
only grip, after 2 minutes of use, is the slider, it didnt seem that sturdy.
The reason its taking so long for it to reach other manufactures is that '3' bought up all of Nokia's first shipment, to get the exclucive.
Everyone should get theirs on the next shipment.

Hi does anyone know how to get rid of the advertising banner from the bottom of the screen on the nokia 6280. it is annoying and i sometimes press it by mistake. can you replace it with another menu

n70 is overall better than n6280, but i dont think so it wil faster than S40 UI n6280.
depends on you, if u wan to install some software into yr cellphone.. n70 available. on the other hand, n6280 just same like n6230.. u just can download JAVA application stuff. (n6280 used new User-Interface S40 which compared to n6230).
hope that wil help u to make decision^^

I meant you can only get it on a 18 month contract if you order from their website.
can you get an online tariff if you order over the phone ?

Actually I bought a new 6280 on a 12 month contract today on 3 over the phone, as a new customer to 3. Hoping its as good as it looks!

It is only available to new 3 customers if you sign up to a 18 month contract, if bought from 3 website !

before i was not that excited and interested about this phone compared with other models arriving, but when i saw the video capture/playback resolution of this amazing phone, i said WOW a whooping VGA! neither the 3 new upcoming N series or SE W900 had such an excellent VGA resolution! at first im still skeptical but again after checking official specs at Nokia's site then, i said it's true!

release is imminent...Got told today by 3 staff member in melbourne (australia) city sore that 6280 is due 1st week of feb as they had been advised by their nokia rep...He said it was certain!
Could this actually be??

You can only install Java software, no Symbian Software, since s40 OS is no Symbian OS.
