I think Nokia 6280 an improvement on 6270 will be my best friend.Takes still photos,makes movies,has a flash,plays music on MP3 as well as the FM radio, has bluetooth,Edge,infrared,3D speakers...
The only thing I don't have is a torch in the mobile as I like to go out camping where power is always a problem!! I can see who I am talking too!!??

Ordered one on 3 last week. Got 11 months half price line rental on 12 month contract (cash back) Video talk and text 700. Due for release to new customers on 24th January. (so I am told)

This is getting weird by the day as I just had an email from Nokia today asking me to test pilot the 6280.
Answer will be on Feb 3 and I get to keep the 6280.

Wot a phone a 6280 is a good phone and i always upgrade them and sell them on i just sold Samsung D600 for £300 last week, i using a 6230 it a mint phone

Its a mint phone cost £250-£300 the phones now are gettin better and better.

Hey all,
This fantastic phone is availible on Vodafone Live! in Germany right now for €599 without a connection (SIM free). I was just on holiday there and got one and have bought it back to New Zealand and connected it to Vodafone NZ with no hassles and all services working fine including video calling, streaming video and music downloads. Its great too as all the shop staff were oozing all over it as it has yet too even be confirmed if the phone will released here, let alone a release date!
Does anyone know if it is due to be released on Vodafone in Australia?

anyone get 6280? please post some comments about the phone quality and compare it if possible.

Yes... this phone is with only 3G at the moment but still they are not giving out its on pre order, but as I was already on £G before I got an upgrade this year, so for an upgrade they have to provide it. Mine is arriving this comeing monday , can't wait !!! will give my views when i receive it. !

there are a lot of website selling the phone but they just take the orders ....doesnt mean they will ship the phone next day!

i have this phone but just a question is there a light or night mode for video as i cant find it,if you can help please email me thanks.all other features great radio reception poor and i cant access visual radio for what ever its for.

I gave up waiting on the 6280 and took delivery on monday of a 6270 on the 02 network - very nice phone ;-) and unlocked too.

when is this phone to be released on the market in the uk at the moment no one has a clue looks like only 3 has got it,we may never get it on other networks - thats nokia for you they make all these fancy fones but never get them out,if anyone has any idea when is out o2 please tell me

To the people that have received their phone on upgrade or other, have you spotted any bugs in the phone yet ??....I am a bit worried about getting the phone now as they have held it back for so long to iron out the bugs, but if they rush it then the bugs are still going to be there. I have been waiting for sooooo long now for this phone to come out in Australia !!!! Don't wanna be disappointed, not that there’s much to choose from at the moment anyway...but.......

I received my 6280 this morning on a 3 upgrade, and have been "playing" all day.
The camera is really good quality and as always the navigation wihtin menu's is as always easy as pie.
This beats my last handset hands down (LG 8120, never again !!!)

I just saw half the handset on display in CarphoneWarehouse, Edinburgh. The top slider of this demo unit had broken off, leaving merely the keypad !! This felt good, and at least as easy to use as the 6230i next to it - the keys are less tall, but spaced wider apart.
The phone was listed at £299.99, but I didn't pursue this because I know they won't have stock yet for a non-3-upgrade customer (and the usually cloying staff wouldn't catch my eye at 1 minute to closing time!).
If I acquired one on 3, could I unlock it to work on Vodafone? I guess not, or that's what we'd all be doing.
Nice phone, which I have been waiting for for some time. I use a combination of Moto razr, which I cannot wait to get rid of, and 9500 communicator for on-the-road email and web access. The 6280 isn't perfect, but it's the closest I can see to satisfying both needs in one moderately sized handset, and hopefully 3G web access will be faster than 2G (please ...).
BTW, the 6280 seemed almost identical in size to the 6230i physically; but the 6230i appears smaller because of clever styling.

Too right this phone isn't out... I feel really deceived by Nokia and am leaning towards an alternative now.
All these comments from shop staff about when it's out are rubbish, they don't really have a clue and they are just trying to sustain interest. At the end of the day no-one really knows (do Nokia even?!) and until it's in the stock rooms we might as well all calm down.
If enough people emailed Nokia to complain about the ever-changing release date they might realise just how much they are letting everyone down.
That's my rant for the day!!

Why do you keep claiming its out??
if you check the website you mentioned you will realise that it lists the tariffs, but why dont you check the stock??? its in red all the way through.
they have had it listed to generate interest but they have NO phones!
check some other phones on their site and you will realise the stock is shown green! Meaning they have stock of those phones.
regarding available status, so what if gsmarena say its out? dosent mean it is! and its not.
dont believe everthing you read.
