Apparently this phone is equipped with a MPEG4 player. Thus you can encode your favourite Simpsons episodes and watch it accordingly.

cp: I really don't know which company you're with but you wish! On the three network video calls cost 35c per 30 seconds - whereas you'd probably get free phone calls up to a certain cap rate... Sorry not the same. In case you didn't know Australians pay one of the highest mobile, telephone, and broadband internet rates in the world.

In Australia 3G is one of the biggest and cheapest services ard. Video calling is the same rate as a normal call, 2G phones are so ancient now a days. So the Nokia 6280 will be a big hit here.

I was also wondering if the 6280 could support mp4 formats.

Is the 6280 the same as the originally slated N6280 listed on the nokia roadmap: http://mobile-qanda.com/forums/1103/ShowPost.aspx
If so than it means the 6280 was suppose to be an N-series phone...

Sep - you're totally right. I agree that 3G is extremely expensive and is more of a priviledge geared towards the corporate high flyers. Additionally more than 90% of the countries around the world don't even have the 3G network yet.

the reason why i say video calls arent important is the fact that not everyone you know has a compatible phone that you can make video calls to. i also think that video calls will cost a fortune. i am leaning more towards the 6280 as of right now, but this is just due to the available colors and slightly better desigb. the 6270 is quadband and it has stereo speakers which i really like, but the LIP on the bottom makes it look so gly.

It should retail for about $599 in the USA when it is released - however, if you're patient you can expect the price to drop within a few weeks.

What Sep is saying is that the front camera is an underterming factor in the sense that takes VGA Photos - and since the phone is equiped with a 2MP camera at the back, you'll probabably never use the VGA camera to take pictures.
But yes the 6280 is a 3G phone and the front camera as a video camera is a determining factor. But as a photo camera it's not.

to sep.. why is a camera for video calls an undetermining factor.(waist of time?) cause i am opting for the 6280 mainly becaus of 3g and the video calls.???????????????

Additionally - the 6280 is lighter than the 6270 and has a better overall design.
and Yes the front video camera at the front of the 6280 can be used to take pictures at the VGA standard.
In the USA the 6280 will be about $100 more expensive than the 6270 upon release.
If you care for everyone to hear your fancy ringtones or you want to listen to music out loud than go for the 6270 with its stereo speakers.
If you want a 3G phone capable of video talk thats lighter and more stylish - than fork out another $100 US dollars and go for the 6280.
There - simple.

sorry one more difference. the 6280 has a VGA camera in the front for video calling, the 6270 dosent have this. but i dont see this as adetermening factor, its an unnecessary function.
