I've had mine for a year now, and ignoring a few little hiccups I love it.
The camera is really good quality for a mobile camera and the phone is fast. Once I worked out how to turn the ugly active display off, I really loved the look of the phone, including the little shortcut icons on the main screen.
Only I have with it is the dictionary doesn't seem to save words most of the time. It's decided to save a few words, (mainly swear words!)but the rest it just ignores and I have to type them in everytime.
Sometimes it turns itself off randomly. The screen goes all multicoloured lines then fades to black. Strange stuff. But it only happens rarely so it's not a huge problem.
After a year of use the call speaker has become a tad tempremental, which means I cannot hear people when they call me, but it's nothing a few (hard) taps against my desk doesn't fix.
Excluding the three things wrong with it, the phone is great. Is currently storing about 200 text messages (including MMS's), and I've just upgraded to a 1gb memorycard so I can hold more music.

I have had this phone for a year and a half and none of the problems which the person who wrote about 5 comments below has happened to my phone. Not to say it couldnt. The only problems were the battery life depleting to quick, (replacement battery $30 genuine) and a new screen and software upgrate at a cost of $140. Also aftermarket covers let too much dust in and fall apart. Recommend genuine nokia for replacement here.

i have been using this phone for more than an year now... as far as i see the only probem i encountered was that the volume is not loud enough.. that's all... as i read through the comments and the faults, all i can realize is that most of them have problems with it because of the lack of knowledge of handling the phone.. this has worked for me for 15 months, no probs... the camera is pretty good for a 2MP. i highly recommend it to people who are looking for phone which has all the general features and is economical....

This phone is absolutely hopeless, I know about 4 people who have bought this phone and have bought a new phone within a year dues to the problems they have had.
These are just a few of the problems i have heard:
camera button after 1 year does not work
main toggle button freezes
entire phone freezes for no reason
slide got stuck
unable to make calls or stay connected during calls
microphone faulty
Just dont buy it there is so much better out there

I am facing some problems with my Nokia 6280. It's profiles sets to default automatically, moreover if I select phone memory still after sometimes it automatically selects both phone and sim memory it causes two numbers for each. Ringtone volume too low. Battery sustains for only one day. Camera quality is too good comapred to other 2 mega piexel camera phones.

i had this phone for the best part of a year on the 3 network, and have to give you a warning, if like me, your mobile is on 24/7 then watch out for the screen craking, battery not lasting for a 10 min conversation after just coming off charge, it self rejecting calls, switching off and not turning on, again, just after coming off charge. it not recognising the memory card, it not finding other bluetooth devices, msg not getting sent etc. 3 said to me that these phones go through checks, yet on the same day i got it, it had to be sent to the 3 repairs team due to a fault. so to end, would i buy another nokia? no. with this mobile they have rewind the good image nokia had with me, and i now use a sony ericsson, which is more upto date and more problem free.

Re comment from joel: it uses a mini sd card. They come in 64mb, 512mb, 1gb and 2gb as far as I am aware.
Hope this helps.

After sorting out some software problems(under warranty) and a new screen and battery (just outside the warranty period) the 6280 is a lot more phone than what was offered at the time I purchased and was in my opinion a good choice. I am however looking forward to an upgrade in the coming months to something like a N95 or K850. Who knows, there might be something much better on the market by then.

After this phone is with me for 7 1/2 months, it got stolen at a high class mall last sunday june 24, 2007. -x- i was sad that i really let it go to that thief. anyway, i was planning to sell that phone & buy a 6120/6121 classic soon. so, at least it didn't stole my 6680 too. i like my 6680 better than the 6280 when it comes to performance. 6280 has no ram at all so it hangs, restarts often. even just a little amount of files stored i'm very much careful in opening applications. but in features, 6280 is a good one. :] hell that thief sure be a lucky one to use my 3G baby now. but i have no regrets in letting it go like that. coz what i'm after a phone now is it has RAM & good performance [e.g NOKIA 6120, NOKIA 5700]
