My Nokia 6280 is the worst Nokia phone I've ever had Its been back 3 times had 3 different Nokia batteries,and still only has a stand by time of 30 hours, am sure if I used it more it would be permanently on charge

I've got two 6280's one for own use and one for work. so you could say that it has my vote!! My only comment would be the software glitch in both of them. It sometimes shuts down mid-way through a track or a game. Also once the battery is nearing the end of it's life, the phone does some wierd stuff like shows empty charge and then full and goes dead mad-way through a call. I've just ordered the 6288 as a new replacement so i'm hoping that this will now be sorted. in General a damn good phone though with many features...

I recommend you to download a software called ''MobiMB''on your computer,connect the usb to your desktop through default mode,and try to search into your phone till you found a file and full of cropped pictures,icons in it..delete all of them,and that should free about 2~3mb of memory.And next time when u changed a theme,properly go back>back>back and back to the active standby,dont quickly quit with the lower right key.

Nokia 6280 FW 5.94. I have problem in forwarding the received MMS. The forward is "gray", not selectable. Also the Sent MMS can not be resent (forword). Is it a general problem ??. Did anyone come across. Not interested in copy and send.

Had it for a year now and the only problems have been battery life in the past month or so. Oh and if you have a motorbike don't bother taking this phone on it. It can't hack the vibrations and turns itself off. I thought it might be a faulty phone but the same happened with the replacement so I think this must be a design fault.

is it possible to watch mpegs in 6280? or is there a software that can be installed so that mpegs can be viewed??

I am currently using a 1gig memory card and it works fine. The only thing I have found is that it can be slow loading up any photos i have stored.

Thanks to the guy who replied me.I dont have anything in the phone memory.Even the games have been deleted.Even though very low memory is shown.Where would I change the flash Ram?Help me out guys.

has anyone tried using a larger memory for mini-sd, say 512mb or 1gig? m thinking of buying 1 but am not sure if the n6280 can run on higher memory other than 64mb. i appreciate your inputs. thanks!

hey Lokesh. i had your problem b4 when i had the n6280. u should try to clear anything on your phone memory and move them to your miniSD card. or u can use a smaller sized theme.. if all else fails, u have to change ur flash ram. i had mine changed at the nokia Care in singapore. it should be free if u still have the warranty. good luck Lokesh.

Hi guys please help me out.Am using the crap phone past 1 month.The specification says dat the mobile got 6mb internal memory.But the phone shows just 140kb free memory.Single theme I could'nt install.Where's the rest of the memory gone?Wat could I do to restore the full memory back?

i have had the nokia 6280 for a few months, i bought one of them plastic covers for it to protect it and everything. i went to answer a call and the actuall screen was broken, there was a big crack that actually starts in the middle of the fone (internally) and it leads up right through to the middle of the screen... but there is no surface damage at all, and the case i bought is great as well, the company says that i have dropped it or something but i havent. its guna cozt me £70 for a new screen. i have to pay it as its a contract fone. but still leaves the actaul question on wot happened to it. any idea??

if u wan this pone, think bout the 6288;its senior. the 6288 has better and more stable firmware, no bug and no hangs, good battery, comes with 512mb card, and features almost the same function as the 6280, and for the better firmware, it only cost around 100euro more

been in for repair 4 times failed text, failed battery, turns itself off, and when fitted to in car system does what it wants, and where is it now back in for repair wont charge, worst nokia Ive ever had

er.. dude.. dont get the n6280. you will regret it.. i serviced my phone so many times that i knew the folks at nokia so well that i didnt have to get a queue no., i just see the manager.. lol..

hi. i am from singapore and i WAS a proud user of a 6280. it was a great phone with little lag. but i guess the on board ram wasnt enough and it just reboots by itself, looses my network, and weird enough, backspaces in a middle of an sms typing session! themes cannnot be applied easily as there is usually "not enough memory".
as a result, i went to nokia care (the service center they call in singapore) and i serviced it 6 times. changing the RAM as well as flashing the os again and again. but nothing works.. as after a week or two with my phone after servicing, the problems will surface again.
what i recommend is changing ur phone to a n70 which roughly costs the same as a 6280. the trade off is that ur screen will me smaller and ur resolution will be de-proved (208 by 176) and that u will experience lag in everything u do. but! what u get is stability and great functionality!!! for example u get 35mb ram which farly exceeds the 6mb in a 6280. and u can use the front camera for taking photos. and u can use many great 3rd party softwares. just to give an example, u can install a wma plugin to play wma songs whereas u have to stick with the default player for 6280.
for those with 6280, i wish u good luck in finding a better phone. (hint hint: get a n70! ;P)

This is a great phone. i don't know why people say its bad and that it freezes, switches off, battery last 1 day..etc..etc.. i had this phone for almost a year. the battery last for 3 days easily and i have a heavy user. it never switches off on me and the camera has no delay whatsoever. I live in Australia and i bought the phone there so maybe the Australian version and software is more stable than other versions. A great phone and I highly recommend it.
