Its a great piece of kit. Never failed, reliable. Handles mp3, and aac formats very well. Reasonable headset comes with it. Shame I can't use push to talk in the uk!

        NEVER BUY

Never buy a nokia 6280. It goess off anytime without a warning. Most of the time when you are talking to someone. I had several problems and discovered that others are also sufferring with same. My 6280 lied with Nokia Care center for a month, and they did nothing. Now I have to throw it away at a very cheap price

Its honestly a great phone but for your info, you can only use the Secondary VGA camera while doing the 2-way video calling. That's it. You just can't use it as a regular camera. That sucks nokia! Fix it. U guys could make 6280i or something. be easy

            I have two Questions:

How do i set MP3 and Video Ringtones to specific Contacts?

Is the Sound Quality Better on The AD-46 or on HS-23 ?

i got a 6280 about a month ago and it is a fantastic phone. i got a hard plastic case for it, so it won't get damaged, and bought a 512 mb memory card for it which works perfectly. its got one of the biggest screens in the market on it, perfect for playing tetris which i have been addicted to for 20 years!

only thing i will say, is the loudspeaker could be better, and if you worry about slide phones, just get the 6233, as inside it is very similar.

all in all a fantastic handset, everyone should have one!!

                          My dear Martin
I am sorry for your experience but do not misguide other people. Rather you should check what kind of files are you trying to run on your phone. I think this is the best nokia phone in the market overall. A MUST BUY for nokia lovers.

                            DO NOT PURCHASE!

I am sorry to say that I’ve never had a worst phone like this. Calling or answering a call is ok but if you start using the extra, which eventually you purchased the phone for, you’re in for a treat. Uploading MP3’s is severe pain in the rear end. The phone doesn’t recognise some files and after a while asks you to format your card. This means you lose all your data (yes also your images and movies) and some of the files that were not recognised could not be deleted.

The camera now makes images on a format the phone doesn’t recognise and sometimes when using the camera the flash stays lit. Which means you have to shut down the phone and then start it up again.

In short a horrible piece of equipment. Bad work Nokia!!!

Nokia's slider design is way more convinient than Samsung's! Large bottons, large solid phone's size, more expensive build materials, and reliability.

Yet, I'm having a hard time to deside between Nokia 6280 and Panasonic's SA7
Nokia has only 970 mah batterry comparing to Panasonic's 1600mah!!! With at least 262k color screan I cannot imagine using Bluetooth for all phone calls and to be able to squeeze 4-5 hr of talk time or more than One day of standby.

Nokia shold have made this phone just a slightly thicker to fit 1500-1600 mah batterry.

i have had this phone for 6 months and the amount of faults i have had is beyond belief and by far the most i have ever had for one phone.

I have a SE k800i coming tomorrow to replace this handset.

But the 6280 is a nice handset to look at, a nice size and design i will say that BUT its just too buggy to enjoy, the operating system is just not tight enough to make day to day activitys a pleasure.

Its a shame because for me as i said to look at ....... its nice and the features were enough for me apart from say auto focus.........

Basically stay away from series 40 (i'm on the 3 network) operating system for the moment... unless you into having your head comnpletely done with crashes, re-starts, weird beeps and long noises for no reason, and freezes every now and then

I have attempted to receive data via a bluetooth connection, but I am unable to find that data on my 6280 once the data tranfer is complete. Does anybody know where it is saved to? it doesn't appear to be on the memory card. Does the card need acivating somehow?
