ei guys this phone is very good!
i just wanna ask some questions.
1. how can i install theme? i mean, if i put a theme in my memory card using my card reader, does my phone detect the theme and i can apply it?
2. if i transfer songs from my pc to my nokia 6280 using card reader, does the songs automatically detected by the music player?
ive been using bluetooth dongle for my recent phone and its my first time to use a card reader in this phone thats why im asking these questions. pls help. because they said that its better to transfer files using card reader,thanks.

hi, i got this phone today, i started downloading some mp3 and mp4 media from my PC into it when During the file transfer the connection via Bluetooth broke and the phone switched itself off.
When attempting to switch the phone back on, power comes on for few seconds and the screen immediately fades away, switching the phone off.
I was suspecting that the problem might be with the phone memory being full and therefore the same might be low to "reboot" the software to start up the phone.
In this respect I have removed the memory card (mini sd 64mb) and the SIM card to free some memory and tried to switch the phone back on.
It worked in such a way that now the phone is on and displays the message "Start up phone without SIM card?” giving you two (2) options:
1. Accept
2. Reject
When "Accept" is pressed, phone screen fades away and repeats the same few times before switches itself off.
When "Reject" is pressed, phone goes off immediately.
Would you be so kind to advise what if anything can be done to bring the phone back to the normal operation? Any codes and stuff available? Pls?
Any assistance given will be much appreciated. I didnt even use the phone for 1 hour and its broken? hope not, plz help

I used to own 6630 before this 6280. When compared this phone is very poorly designed. Yes, 6630 is heavier and bigger and 6280 is easier on the eyes. But that's about it...I am very upset and disappointed with 6280. The catalogue of complaints are so long...
1. Batt life too short
2. Cannot read data saved from 6630 (contacts,etc)
3. Need both hands to operate the camera
4. Mini SD is too small in memory size
5. Poor hands free kit design
6. Cannot play as many file formats as 6630
7. Copying files thru PC Suite is not an easy as 6630
8. Cannot use the My Home City Function unlike 6630
9. Upon deleting image,it goes back to the top rather than moving to the next image
10. Plus many more

One of the best phone Nokia have make so far...
Probably also one of the best phone in the world today...
Highly recommended camera, video and a 3G phone...
It's a phone for everything, second to none...

For my case its very straight forward, when I wanna access to E-mail folder the screen shuting off & its come back to stand by screen. After I send to reseller for re-flash my phone cause its shuting down & can't get back to work after applying theme. Now the phone can accept new theme but E-mail folder still facing the same problem. I even ask them try out the phone, they can't say anyting about that just ask me wait for new firmware or go straight away to Nokia to complaint about this. So, basically not every phone faulty cause by user.

nokia 6280 is fully functional. the best phone ive ever seen. no problems at all. my firmware is 3.60 but i got no problems. i think it depends only on the user itself. if u dont know how to use the phone correctly, then you might have problem. thats all

Got the 6280 it’s a great phone had to wait a while as the had been doing some modifications to the features so 02 told me so no probes another great phone from nokia

I got a 6280 28.01.06, thought it was a peach., I became suspicious of the battery life and the fact it kept crashing.I got less tan 24 hours of normal use, i put up with it till last week, i had spoken to 3 who advised me to return it for a repair. I was not prepared to be left phoneless for 3/4 days, so i moaned to 3 big time. They have now replaced it with a 6630 wich is a refurb but it woks sweetly, i am too old to be a fashion victim!

This is a really really good phone. I have had it for a week in Australia On 3 and there are no problems at all. All you people having promblems with it just get the software upgraded and stop complaining cos ITS A GREAT PHONE!!!!!.

When i play MP3, occasionally the fone will hang, then the reception bar no signal at all. Meaning can't receive incoming or make outgoing calls.
Gotta off the fone, then turn it on, & it'll go back 2 'normal'.
Im still using firmware 3.60
Too bz with work, no time 2 go care centre.

why have nokia changed the size of the charger wand. I lost my charger on holiday and have tried every nokia charegr I can get my hands on but all of them too big

I've got the exact problem as you. 6280, M1, singapore, 3 times sent back to nokia care, all 3 times same problems not fixed even though they changed firmware and motherboard. guess what I did? I demanded for a N70 and they swopped me the phone. i'm extremely happy with the n70 now. Symbian phones can own normal phones even if its slightly slower in OS speed. functionality is limitless and the n70 is bug free so far with latest firmware!

Hi. I'm from Malaysia. I bought a brand new Nokia 6280 on 10th june 2006. The phone suddenly broke down 6 days later, when I was transferring mp3s from another phone, the SE K750 (also new phone). The phone suddenly shut down & failed to start when i press on (when pressed on, the screen flicked 2 times, then blank). When I asked phone dealers around the city, they mentioned that 6280 has lots of 'software problems'; stay away from it. The phone auto-shutdown, coverage problem when using music player, highly unstable & the battery life is so short. The best thing abt this phone is that its the most affordable 3G phone with such cool features; big, bright & sharp display (better than N80), good GUI & processing speed (faster than N70), excellent video recording and great sound. I've sent it to service center & hv to wait until tuesday to get it back. sigh. I'm planning to sell the phone, can't bear to face the problems.

I love this phone evah!!!Wow!!!No problem with the memory all u hav to do is buy memory card!!!the design is also super cool I love sliding phone!!!I don't know the price right now...but when I buy it it cost only 25k! but now waaaa 30,000.00 but it's ok.. first come first serve! Choose your own phone.

Oh... forgot one moer thing. The problem that I encounter at this moment is the E-mail folder under Messaging. The display shuting off & its go back to main menu.
