Anonymous, 21 May 2008worst phone ever, battery lasts 9 hours, random at restarts... moremy daughter has had nothing but trouble with nokia 2688 for god sake do not buy a nokia 6288 bcos you get no help from nokia they just tell u nothing wrong with phone and when u get it back same thing happens

First of all the facts. This phone is available on a few carriers in Australia at the moment, it is between $200 - $300 but will be locked to whichever carrier you get it from. The sad truth about this phone is it's the phone that could have killed nokia. It seems fine, but like all good things, that comes to an end. Software issues are just the begining for most people, one little thing goes wrong and the phone will die. Working with phone for the past few years has taught me one thing, that although this phone has a nice design and features that look good on paper, it is all a lie. My boyfriend has this phone (obviously he got it before he met me or i would have stopped him), and right now he has no problems, but I wait for the day when it will decide it hates him and decide to freeze all the time or turn it's display upside down. It's sad that Nokia could come out with something so unreliable. Don't get it if you can avoid it... if you already have it, I hope you have gotten one of the 1 out of 10 that will not die.

I had this phone for about 6 months and it is a nightmare!!at first it seems all good and well and then starts switching off by itself,the picture is upside down it blanks off and on and just is a real disappointment.i had the 6280 before this and Nokia couldnt repair it so they gave me a brand new 6288.i thought i was lucky,its actually a big waste of time!!

I've used this phone for about close to a year. I had no problems with it until recently. The screen blacks off and appears upside down. Im not sure if its a software problem. I really don't know what is happening to this phone. Can somebody help?

I Think this this very nice. I have used this phone for a year and until now I dont have problem. Altought the quality of camera still 2 MP and can get picture best in light less.

worst phone ever, battery lasts 9 hours, random at restarts, BAD lcd, always stops working, this phone is good for the first 4 months, then comes all the problems. clumsy sliding mechamisn, so rough and eventutally it slides down when im in the middle of a call! and also when i answer a phone call it automatically hangs up! DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. is a accident waiting to be bought.

i'm currently using this phone, mine's made in China but i got it as a bundle for a postpaid plan from a reliable network, with a 2-yr nokia warranty. i think it's a great phone, generally. the 2MP camera takes nice daytime shots, but it's really noisy when used in low light. i love the screen display, very bright and crisp, although the colors aren't as good as SE phones. i also use it as modem when i surf the net. nice reception, only sometimes it "reboots". it doesn't lag when you navigate in the menus or when you use its built-in apps, unlike N70 and other Symbian nokia phones. but i do have a problem with the music when played in the built-in speaker, it sounds "basag". the ringtones are not very loud also, sometimes i can't hear when someone's calling and the phone's in my bag. but all in all, it's a good phone. just don't drop it or let it get wet. take good care of it,.. don't blame the phone coz if you're not very careful with it, it will definitely break.

i had this phone for about 1 and half years. below is a list of its pros and cons:
pros;
beautiful screen
loved the bright and crisp display
fast user interface
no lags between key strokes
good outdoor camera
takes great shots outdoors with
sufficient light
music player
decent quality music player
has a lot of cool downloadable themes
Cons;
awful indoor camera
low light photography simply sucks. the
built in flash is a joke. the flash bulb
is improperly placed. flash reflects off
the inside of the housing and ruins your
photos. too much noise in photos. a heck
too much
no screen brightness control
