Hi Guys... I think Sony Ericssion k550i[Cybershot] is a much better phone than 6300 -->> It has got 7hrs talk time, 77mb internal memory, Awesome Camera,TrackID music recognition,Stereo FM radio with RDS, Good video player,Full Java support Adobe Photoshop Album,Infrared, AND lots of themes & customizations possible
Both the phones almost cost the same, so I would definitely recommend k550i.

i'm a little bit bothered by its low phone memory (7,8 MB), in which i have to constantly erase old messages in order to be able to have enough memory to send new ones..
does anyone have any solution to this dilemma?
thanks a bunch.

Cool phone, all bells and whistles. Battery life is rubbish - major problem. Also voice dialing not good. If driving u always have to check screen to see if right number will be dialed which isnt great when ur supposed to be handsfree.

I've got the black one. My firmware is v.7.0, is it the latest one?
Actually, i bought this phone for its design. Looks classically simple n stylish. The blue LED notification is a good point here. The feature is standard. The most annoying things are the internal memory n the battery performance. In the nokia site said that it has 7.8 mb internal, n mine got 2.0 mb left. It sucks man, downloading the apps cant more than 1 mb, so i cant install dictionary which needs more than 2 mb. N the battery totally sucks! I have to recharge my phone every day. The bottomline is dont buy this damn phone. I regret purchasing it. I would not recommend this phone to buy!

reyn, 01 May 2009how is your 6300 going on? any other remedy for it's batter... morehi reyn,
the 6300 is a great device except for the battery & sounds issue. anyways let me suggest you an alternate solution what i practice currently which im sure will address the battery issue to somewhat extent.
well im sure u'd agree that the device screen once lit (ex:after a call) takes a longer time (almost a minutes) to fade. this is one of the most critical reasons why the battery consumption is higher. What you can do is always make sure to lock the keypad soon after a call (or when u just play around) & immediately after-wards press the red key (call ending key) once. you would notice this makes the screen fade within seconds.
Additional steps you can take is :
- Switch off the screen saver
- Switch on Power Saver mode &
- Switch on Sleep mode
these would amazingly reduce your battery usage.
On a general note I used my 6300 for the last 9 months & it has proved to be a very reliable & durable device & based on some online research im convinced & planning to shift over to a 3110 Classic which is supposed to deliver almost same features plus an excellent battery life. my disadvantages would be the camera which is 1.3MP & the screen resolution ... yet as a mobile it delivers everything thats requried.
cheers people ...

Even though the phone suffers from Battery Consistency, it is a great phone with all the bells and whistles for phones in its range.
