Thanks Dill for explaining my question about life time numbers. Who can tell please me what is the latest Firmware Version for Nokia 6300? And what are the improvements. I have been waiting for a long time to update mine from V5.0 to the latest but seems nokia has not given out the latest for my region.

I am now using the UPGRADED BATTERY for the nokia 6300, it is very good, and has approx 30% more power capapcity. It is a direct fit replacement. Thank you also to the people who helped me find the ringtones websites.

I had purchased 6300 but its very bad battery back up and the sound quality is also bad. one major fact it important with it, its being warm during normal call time of 8- 10 minutes.
Beaware of purchasig this brand.

Nokia 1200 -1208 1209 is good but it is totally bad set and it will destroyed your valueble money. I had purchase 6300 jan, 2009 till date I am rusing Nokia care centre but till date I have not got the satisfactory.

The difference is... moreNowadays many sets are "Made in China" but Nokia is itself making them in China to cut the labour and other costs. These sets can't be called fake. BUT there are also fake Chinese copies in market. Their cost is also low. Nokia 6300 copy is very popular in market as Chinese have made a very fine fake copy. Its difficult to distinguish. So be careful. If it doesn't have GPRS, then its surely the fake one.
Try typing different Nokia Codes on it like *#0000# and *#92702689#. Normally the fake ones do not show anything on these codes.

I live in Honduras, Central America 6 months with my Nokia 6300 excellent overall experience no glitches at all yet. Mine is version 5.0. I putted the Life Timer Code *#92702689# and received the Life Timer numbers 0017:53. Can somebody explain me what this numbers mean? Thanks.

hari, 09 Feb 2009here i opened memory card for used another mobile. but the... morePliz insert it back memory card into ur previous fone before then press option in ur memory card storage choose 'remove password' u may try this hope will help ur prob

medard from Zambia, 10 Feb 2009phone 6300 can't be connected to any pc after installed pc ... moremaybe there's a problem in installing your pc suite..try to uninstall it and install it again..but it works! or download the pc suit installer from www.nokia.com.ph..its more updated!

If the 6300 is made in China, is it fake? The difference is there's no GPRS. Do you think it's one of the replica phones or not? Should i buy it or not?

Rumman, 02 Feb 2009Well I am using this phone for more than one year. Not bad ... morei agree with bad sound quality for recording, battery life time & axcellent picture but not with the camera. 6300 has an excellent camera, i think u're using Chinese make which is not original.
