These days I find 6300 with more and more people here in the middle east. (steel and black version with men and steel and white version with women) Even after more than a year since it's introduction it is still popular till date despite getting close to outdate and believe me eveyone whom I have asked have said it gets warm to hot depending on the duration of call. So people out there still like 6300 a lot.

My 6300 never heats up, even with 3-4 Hours Music Playback
i have the Black Edition 6300
Nokia have improved it in everyway!

Why dont people Understand, 6300 Heats up becuase the Back Cover is STAINLESS STEEL!
Steel heats up with the Heat from the Battery, which is normal for a Stainless Steel phone!

Must mention its winter time here and when making calls on 6300 have been dissapointed as this set does not heat up during calls.
Where may i get a good set that can heat up for me ?

You complain about the phone getting hot after 5 mins. worth of talking but you are yet to say how much talk time you get out of the battery.

I stayed on a call for 30 minutes on my 6300 and it was cold like ice.
I stayed on a call for 2 hours and it was warm.
I stayed on a call for 3hour and 39 minutes and it was very warm but NOT hot.

please advice what to do with the NOKIA model 6300. Cause its battery charge duration is poor & set become very hot if talking time is more than 5 min.

Nokia model 6300 is a slip & handy model. But its performance is not upto the mark. During talking time 6300 set become hot. Moreover,capacity of battery charge is very poor. Battery charge does not remain as compare to other sets of Nokia.

I have been using a NOKIA-6300 mobile set which is made in HUNGARY. I have found that charge of battery is poor compare to other mobile of NOKIA. Moreover , if talking time is more than 5 minitues , the set become very hot. Asking to some of friends who are using 6300 model ,complaint is same. Some of them have become very disappointed about its performance.

My 5310's battery is lasting 3 and a half days with extreme usage. Sound quality is one step ahead of 6300. I am happy it doesn't become hot at all even if I speak for half an hour. It stays as cold as cucumber.

My 6300 Battery lasted 1.5 Days, its just died now after charging it yesterday.............

Things people worry about! When you change theme just change your tones to how or what you want it isnt end of world or if they dont work dont use the theme it isnt end of world.

I always use the 'Noir' theme and never change it.
No Problems occur with this theme.
with others it does.

A few times 6300 owners asked why is it that the ringtone changes to the default Nokia tone whenever a new theme is activated.
The reason is that every theme has a slot for a ringtone. If a theme was customized with a special ringtone then that special ringtone will be inserted in the ringtone slot.
Once a theme is applied, whatever ringtone was being used previously will disappear to make way for the theme's own tone.
If a theme doesn't have a ringtone included along with it, then the OS autmatically uses the default Nokia tone.
Similarly, if a theme wasn't customized with it's own icons or colours then the default icons and colours are used.
The fact of the matter is that themes have total control over the phone's appearance and sounds and if certain areas of themes aren't customized then the default is always used.
Once I had a theme which changed ever aspect of the phone's appearance and sound as well. It had a Spanish girl as the wallpaper and the ringtone was a Spanish one too. The ring was very loud but I didn't keep that theme for long because it was too big. It was in the size range of 2MB. I think it was about 2.5MB.
Too big a theme will hog the phone's ram, demand more power from the CPU and may sometimes bring certain operations to a halt.
Similarly, too high a video quality (especially 512kbps) demands more power from the graphics engine and drains the battery faster.
A theme size of 176KB - 300KB is good to work with. Personally, I rather themes NOT exceeding 176KB. At this size (176KB), technically, the 6300 operates just as fast as if you were using the default Nokia theme which is 41KB.

the N6300 with its 2megapixel camera capable of stills and videos,mp3 and mp4 players,bluetooth with a2dp connectivity and wap browser plus a built-in usb port and micro-sd memory card slot for enhanced file storage,an fm radio and led light effects all in a slim yet sturdy body with a simple retro look is a class in itself,no matter what some malcontents say! this nokia child is perfectly practical! buy it,love it!

Nobody has rights to dictate terms to somebody as anybody can enter or exit 6300 forum at their own will, after all everybody is just exchanging their views on 6300 in this forum. Nokias are good phone so are other makes.
