I bought the 6233 because of the 3G support which is a defining factor as i link up to my N800 for 3G Browsing. The Video recorder is better (QVGA)so screen colours dont count a most never come close to using the 1 million colours supported. The battery is slightly stronger on 6233 and as for contacts, there is a sim to save your contacts.

      To WINURA:

Both 6300 and 6233 are aimed at the same market. They are in the same class. They are both business class phones. If you compare business features between both models you will see that they are both the same...To Do List, Notepad application etc. The multimedia features are secondary.

But with Nokia you give and take. You can't have your cake and eat it too. They have a budget for their phones.

The 6300 have a very high quality and expense screen supporting up to 16.7 million colours while the 6233 only have 262,000 colours.

The 6233 only supports up to 500 contacts while 6300 supports up to 1,000 contacts. This is the biggest turn off for me because I'm coming from a 6230 which supports 1,000 contacts so why should I downgrade my phonebook by buying the 6233 ? Furthermore I had more than 500 contacts in my 6230 so I needed a phone with a similar capacity. Telephony functions are the MOST important and the PRIMARY reason for buying a phone!

The 6300 have more internal memory and memory isn't cheap.

The 6300 have a miniUSB port which basically makes it a universal port because even a digital camera USB cable will work with it. The 6233 has a Pop-Port so it needs a special nokia cable which can be hard to get. I have been there so I know.

The 6300 weighs 19 grams less than 6233 making it easier on your pocket. I like to forget I have a phone in my pocket until it rings. I don't like to feel constant weight in my pocket.

The materials used for the 6300 are of high quality and much more expensive than the materials used for 6233.

The 6300 is slimmer making it more comfortable in the hands.

The 6300 supports H.264 high definition codec which gives you higher video quality at lower file sizes.

I'm NOT saying the 6233 doesn't have an edge at all over the 6300 I'm just pointing out why both phones stand out in there own way.

I would have liked if the 6300 had certain features which the 6233 have like VGA recording / playback. Dual speakers with 3D sound.
The only other 2 features the 6233 have over 6300 is 3G and Video Sharing which isn't a factor because many providers still doesn't
      support these 2 features.

If it wasn't for the small phonebook then the 6233 would be an excellent buy.

Another person I know called NokiaMia was also disgusted with the 6233 small phonebook as they had 600 very important business contacts in their 6230 so they would have had to shave off 100 contacts if they had switched to the 6233.

All in all I like my 6300. A better screen, more stylish, slimmer, weighs less and very comfortable to use. The 6300 is a winner in many ways.

                    To FRITZ:

i agree with you that the 6233 is a good phone but you should keep in mind these 2 phones were made aiming at 2 different markets. both phones has their own ups and downs. watch the official videos of these phones. you will understand what i'm talking about. the videos perfectly describe for what purpose it is built for.

since you're boasting about the 6233, did you notice that the 6233 has only 4.8MB of internal memory even though it says it has 6MB! besides you will find a lot of complains about the 6233 made by the users than there are complains about the 6300.

                      Hello,

I have very little reception in the Nokia 6300 set. Is something is to be done to regain this. Please advise.

Yeah, 6233 is DEFINITELY BETTER than 6300. If you just don't care about the design and you just focus more on the functionality and performance(including battery life), then 6233 is CLEARLY a better choice(for me because i'm a little more conscious on the performance and the looks is oftentimes the last in my criteria). Alright, i admit that i was totally fascinated when i saw the 6300 for real in the shop. Everything would have been perfect with this handset and i was about to buy it if would not because of the video resolution. It's far from the VGA video capture resolution of 6233 that the salesgirl is introducing. And for me, having that VGA video capture resolution is CLEARLY a cheat in this price range. I mean, you can't find any other Nokia and other brands i guess that's offering VGA video in this price. And now, i'm totally happy with my 6233. Well, let me break down the differences of this 6233 and 6300:
Advantages of the 6233 over 6300:
                        1. 6233 is capturing at VGA (640x480 pixels) resolution at 15 fps while the 6300 is just capturing at QCIF (176x144 pixels) resolution still at 15 fps.
                        2. 6233 got 3D stereo speakers and very loud while 6300 only have mono speakers and it's not loud enough.
                        3. 6233 got 3G mobile broadband connection (384 kbps) while 6300 is only up to EDGE connection (236.8 kbps).
                        4. 6233 got better battery life lasts 3-4 days with moderate to heavy use on GSM mode than 6300. (ofcourse because 6300 got 16.7 million colour screen).
                        5. 6233 has infrared while 6300 doesn't have.
Now for the advantages of 6300 over 6233:
                        1. 6300 got 16.7 million colour screen while 6233 only got 262,000 colours.
                        2. 6300 weighs 91 grams while 6233 weighs 110 grams.
                        3. 6300 is more stylish and slimmer than 6233 that is thicker.. So, afterall of those, i ended up buying the 6233 because i'm feature-conscious and my sister bought the 6300 because she is design-conscious.
Hope that makes clear. Both handsets are great in their own way. If you're feature-conscious, go for 6233. If you're design-conscious, go for 6300. :-)

                            To LESTER:

When you advise someone to buy another product you are supposed to state the differences NOT repeat something that BOTH products have.

Saying that 6233 have Series 40 3rd Edition, 2 MP cam, memory expandable up to 2GB, Radio, and QVGA display makes you sound silly because 6300 also have all of those!
