I finally have a STRONG SAY in this discussion now that I have MY VERY OWN Nokia 6300. For 2 years I kept my old 6230 because I didn't see anything better to upgrade to...until now.
This is not "an average phone" this goes way beyond many phones in the same class. I used it for the very first time yesterday evening after it finished charging for the first time, which was a 24 hour charge...that's right I left it charging for 1 full day. I used it non-stop from the moment I turned it on. I did just about everything you could think of from viewing photos to playing games. I used the phone continuously until the battery died. I got 7 1/2 hours worth of continuous use out of the Nokia 6300 battery which many people complain about being weak and running out after 5 hours. That was only the very first charge and I got 7 1/2 hours out of it! I plan to do the same for the next 2 charges, 24 hours each. I'm sure that it will only get stronger after the next charge.
Overall I find it to be a very excellent phone. It blew me away completely. I was astounded by quite a few things...and this is somebody who's coming from a FANTASTIC 6230 which changed the mobile world. The screen is not just great it's unbelievable and viewing 3D games on it gives you the feeling that you are playing a PS1 or PS2. What more could you ask for from a phone. It's very fast too...even though accessing the menu on my 6230 was a tad bit faster...but then the 6230 didn't handle the MMC as fast as how it handled the internal features YET the new 6300 handles the Memory Card almost as fast as it accessess it's menu and internal features. So you give an take a bit in some areas but all in all I'm 100% happy with my 6300 and I give it 100%...I don't need to see anything more to justify that rating. In other words the Nokia 6300 deserves 10 out of 10 without any hesitation.
For the record it's the #1 selling phone for 2007 and mine was made by Hungary which is far more superior than the Asian/Chinese version.

What kind of idiot uses their phone to listen to music anyway? Phones are for communication. Which is what I use it for, calling texting, this phone is perfect. Turn off bluetooth if you have battery issues.

i have used my brother 6300 nokia for many .and i went to purchase it but sales man at the store showed me l9 and its feature after comparing both l9 is more advanced in many features have data cable , crstal talk , expandable up to 2 g.b .and good battery back up . i have purchased it and beleive its owesome and be happy to purchase it rather than 6300 hundered becuz 6300 have only good colurs effect than l9

Great mobile but battery timing is ignorantly ignored. i am using Nokia from my start but such a negligence have never been observed. is Nokia doing something for this? please, provide better batteries.

How come this phone run out of battery so quickly!!! It lasts only 3 hr of music! I´m sick and tired of recharging it every night in case it dies during the next day. I´m getting rid of this phone right now. I do not recommend it.
