Just got this phone the other day. The firmware version is 4.20. Is there any way to update the firmware using the PC? Is the firmware available on the internet to be downloaded on some PC, transferred to the device and then installed there? Is it possible?

I am the user of only nokia phones and i like the phone but the headphones of nokia is always very bad unlike SE walk man i dont know why nokia cannot make a nice headphones

the dis-adanvtage with 6300 is weak battery and getting heated faster. rest is ok.

Hi,
I want to buy Nokia. I am bit confuse in choosing in between N72 and Nokia 6300. I am a heavy user of mobile phone. Can anyone please advise which one should I go for. Some people have posted that battery life in 6300 is not good. I also want to know how is the quality of video recording in 6300? Should I go for N72 or 6300? Pls help

go to the time strip hilight am and then click OPTIONS on the select key. it gives you a number of options including am or pm. choose your am or pm.

i'm using this phone for about 2 months now & i put in it merory 1 Gega card & its working perfectly but the only week point i'm not satisfied with is the very poo battery but over all its a great phone

well the phone dosent have 3G like in SE and the talktime also lesser as compared to SE W880i. i would pefer to buy W880i only draw back which i have seen so far in that fone tht it dosent have radio which i love :P cheers guyz hf

1)Display: Is it similiar to N6131 where the matrix appears to float above the backlight??
2)Sound: Is stereo widening option available??
3)Theme:Is the great Soccer theme present in N6131 also available in 6300??

you CAN access menu thru the numeric keypad by first, pressing the 'MENU' button, then press the corresponding numbers, PROVIDED u know which feature u want.
if u want to clear the message recipients log list, (assuming you never move the folders/icons about), its 'Call Log -> Clear Log Lists -> Message Recipients'.
SO, after pressing the 'MENU' button, all u have to do is to press 3 -> 5 -> 6.
So to refute that you cannot access the menu thru the NUMERIC keypad, ur wrong.
Anyway, wats the difference between using the numeric keypad and the navigation button? Does it make ur life easier?
To compare that Nokia is lousier in this aspect, ur mentality's flawed.

you surely can press middle button of the joystick/d-pad in SE phones.
and don't forget about accessing menus using NUMERIC keypad. it's FASSTT!
Nokia can't do that.

no the menu sytem in 6300 is Fast its faster then SE menus on SE phones the side button has to be pressed to go to the Menu but Nokia you simply press the Middle button which gives a quicker response the Nokia Symbian 40 is fast dont be foooled if they say its slow its Fast!!
