yes you need to download Skype software on this mobile which compaitable for VOIP application.

I'd like to know the difference between
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, UMA technology
&
Wi-Fi 802.11g, VoIP over WLAN
Anyone who can answer this question please.
Also would like to know if I can use Skpe on this phone through wifi & if yes then do I have to instal skype software on the phone.

6300i has more internal memory and WiFi and is the SAME SIZE as 6300.
6301 also has more internal memory and WiFi but is THICKER than than the 6300 to make room for a slightly more powerful battery.
i hope no one would ask again what's the difference among 6300, 6300i and 6301.

You cannot use the wifi part of this phone for ANYTHING at all. You have to have orange broadband and sign up for an extra service called UNIQUE from orange. I think it is a complete con. Lovely phone but i bought it for wifi which i cannot use as i do not get broadband from orange and don't want to.
