          @ Andy

Hi , just get the latest version of pc-suite it will detect your phone for sure .

about NSU , u have to get the latest version anyway , otherwise it won't even open and u will get a message to update it .

Make sure that you are useing direct USB connection (no Hub , no extender no nothing) straight to the mainborad slot . and turn off your firewall .

          Happy v10.10 !

Andy, 30 Dec 2009Thanks Subbu for your observations on the firmware update t... moreHi Andy,

I am not sure whether the PC suite is to be kept open. However, the following are the steps (in sequence) used for the update process.

            1. Connected the mobile to the PC.
            2. Selected "PC Suite" mode from the mobile.
            3. Gone to PC Suite -> Manage Connections -> selected USB Cable mode.
            4. Next, ran the Nokia Software Updater.
            5. Nokia Software updater detected the connected device.
            6. Started with the update process.

Note: I observed that the device data didn't got synchronized with the PC suite once the device was detected by the Nokia Software Updater. I simply ignored the PC suite and went through the on screen steps in the Nokia software updater.
            Everything went fine.

My advice is to keep the PC suite and Nokia Software Updater applications up to date before initiating the Firmware update process (Also strongly recommended by NOKIA).

            Hope this helps.

Better to go with sony j105 naite.good 3g campare to this and push email. And MALTI TASKING that you cant find in any nokia s40 phone.you can also get sdp streaming that can view live tv on mobile that you cant find on 6303.

You must "break in" the battery the first time you charge. Do not recharge until the phone says low battery.
Do this 4/5 times and you will have a very good back up time.

                                  Following are my answers:

                                  1. No Idea.
                                  2. Go to Settings -> Date & Time -> Date and Time format -> Date -> Date in Home Screen -> Hide Date.
                                  3. I think no such setting available.

I found www.zedge.net to be the best site till date.

I have no much idea about Sony mobiles. I always prefer Nokia. I had a look of the W302 specifications and I found that Nokia 6303 possess good features than sony W302. Eg: 3.2MP camera, GPRS class 32, 2000 Phone book entries, 2.2" screen, 16M colors display, standard 3.5mm audio jack and Physical appearance.

The above are some of the main features that I found to be superior in Nokia 6303. Please compare both the mobile specifications side by side. Then you will be able to make the right decision.

If I'm in your shoe, I would definitely go for Nokia 6303.

                                    Thanks.

i have 3 doubts in this phone.

1.any possible to hide operators name.
2.any possible to hide date and time(below the operator name)

                                        Hi Friends,

I would like to give some updates on the firmware version 10.10 for 6303 Classic. Here are my findings during and after the update process:

                                        During Update:
                                        1. Update method - Using Nokia Software Updater
                                        2. Approximate update time - 1 hour on a 192Kbps internet connection speed.
                                        3. Problems encountered - I encountered "Downloading Updates failed" error nearly 7 times during the update process. I keep on pressing "Try Again" button whenever there is a failure. At last, the update process succeeded. I believe there is no problem with the Nokia software updater. This might happened to me because of my slow internet connection.

                                        After Update:
                                        1. Mobile got restarted by itself after a successful update.
                                        2. Camera - I observed a slight improvement in the camera's performance (while switching to camera and Image quality)
                                        3. Batter Indicator - Changed slightly but less noticeable.
                                        4. Ringtone/Message tone volume loudness - Haven't noticed any improvement.
                                        5. Rest of the Features - Haven't noticed any new features when compared to v09.10.
                                        6. Mobile got restored to factory settings - Main Menu, Go To Items, Home screen shortcuts, Speed Dials, Contact Group details got reset.

I found that I haven't lost any of the features of v09.10 after updating to v10.10. At the same time no new features got introduced in the new version.

You can undoubtedly go ahead and update to firmware v10.10.

                                        Thanks
