hi there,
design just ok size ok but what happened to keypad,its not at all comfortable for sms and keypad is so hard.make some good larger keypads so its easy to type.perfect phone in the market is 6233 nice keypad no sound of cracking keypad smooth key press nice classy design good sound everything is good but a brick should be thin and a little small in size with good stereo speakers.

Ibought one few a weeks ago the phone is realy good nice looking classic easy to use handset noticed no problems at all i think the 6500 classic is a realy good nokia mobile worth every penny....

I have this phone for almost a year now. Previously I had nokia E61, before that 6680.
+ solid, scratch resistant, pretty fast, java applications are working fine, impressive display, good camera on day light photos,
- rigid keypad, symbian S40, No HSDPA, long calls kills the battery.

I have bought 3 months ago the LG U700. Before that i had the nokia N71 for 3 years and i was more than happy.
LG U700 doesn't offer me that much and i'm thinking of changing it to Nokia 6500 classic.
Please advice whether Nokia 6500 is much better than Samsung U700.

I think the best solution is to head down to the service center if u still have warranty for this phone. Because my sister has the same phone and after going for servicing, the phone works perfectly fine. As good as new, no complains from her so far. shes happy. i think perhaps u shld give it a shot?im not saying it wld def work, but its worth a shot. cheer up=) i know how it is like to have a hioghodfhoi phone. i have had 3 phones that were like that before switching to nokia.

ive been using this phone for about a month, i got it because its slim and sleek. No regrets at all, and the phone looks so pretty i feel so proud just holding it in my hands. a very good and simple phone, i would recommend to get it if you really like it alot. It is a very simple classic phone and very user friendly. Since i have a pair of rather small hands, i dont have any complains about the buttons at all.
All is good except for the battery life, but i intend to get a new battery since i got this phone from a 2nd hand shoop and found out only after i went to nokia and they told me the battery i had was fake.
But if u are considering about this phone, i would highly recommend this.

Ralph, 15 Sep 2008I have now on my third 6500 in a month. I have to recharge ... moresignal strength is terrible on my 6500. i have to go outside to use the phone at home and people are always complaining that they cant hear me when they ring. at work i cant even get a signal.

The Nokia 6500classic has been freezing and doesnt switch it on back.when isee that is freezing,i have to remove the battery from the back of the phone and replace the battery again so that its can work again.what can i do to stop the freezing and is its a gud phone

For what it's worth, my experience with my 6500 classic (now 6 months in) has been great. The battery lasts me for about three days+ with moderate usage, it's wonderfully slim, operating system is fast and responsive, connectivity is great with easy file management. I switched from a Nokia symbian and am really pleased I did; it does everthing it claims brilliantly.

Battery life is awful, runs out within 24 hours even if I don't use it. It's already broken once and the charger has broken! Terrible....

I have to recharge ... moreI have had exactly the same problems - Battery lasts for about a day when it isn't even in use, can't use it at work signal too weak. texting is difficult the keys are badly spaced. Video and photos really bad quality, just an awful phone can't wait to get rid of it!!!!

midian, 07 Sep 2008I got this for for about 2 days now. Everything works great... moreI have now on my third 6500 in a month. I have to recharge it every other day and my useage over the who;e period is only 2.5 hours. The spec says 12 hours standby and 5.5 hours talk time. Unlike my previous Nokia 6230i am unable to use it in my office as the sugnal strength is not strong and the 6500 does not hold the signal. I have had to revert to using my old 6230i that gives me a beeter battery life and will connect in my office.
I like the stile of the 6500 and most of its features. Is anyone else experiencing my problems or have I just been issued phones from a bad batch?
