bajju, 29 May 2012It is the most sleek mobile ever I had used but disappoint... moreI can help you get your battery charging working again. It's a really simple fix if you have a soldering iron with a fine tip, or know someone who does. It involves soldering a wire to one of the 3 large pads exposed on the main board, and putting a schottky diode in series from there to the battery + pin.
The diode you can pull from a scrapped computer motherboard. Mine has been working like this for 3 months already, no problem. The current and voltage limiting is done before the charging IC, so there is no risk in damaging the battery by this method. It takes 2 hours to charge at most.
I've been told by a service person that the "proper" fix would be changing the charging IC, "Betty", but it's a small BGA so i didn't want to risk it.

Nokia 6500 is the best phone i ever used,but since the case spoilt i havn't been able to change it.

It is the most sleek mobile ever I had used but disappointed when the battery stopped getting charged. Still I want to use the same peice if Nokia can rectify the problem. I tried a lot to get back in working condition but in vain. If Nokia can he,lp I still want to use the same peice.
