The nokia 6600i is a beautiful sleek phone it goes without saying the only problem according to me is why does it have to prompt me to to search for an external bluetooth device inorder to make use of it?.

I suppose to make it louder you can use the middle key up.

Any way it is very soft and very cheaply made.

Try Samsung Star, much cheaper and much much better....Very loud too.

Speaker outlet design on the underside tends to supress the ring volume but otherwise a good & compact cell phone.

This is actually the worst Nokia phone I have ever owed and I have had quite a few. The good thing is its size which is appealing and can easily be put into a pocket or small handbag space but the really bad thing is its volume. I miss countless calls and text messages as I never hear it go on and there is no volume control to alter. Also the sound comes out of the back and if the phone is sitting on a table for example, the speaker is covered plus the vibration make no sound at all and it hardly vibrates. I thought for how much this phone cost, it is a really poor buy and am going to go back to my old model which was the 6300 slide so was a total waste of money.

READ THIS BEFORE BUYING THIS PHONE: I am very disapointed, I paid a lot for this phone & am HIGHLY remorseful, I bought it because it is small & I hate huge phones, plus it had to be a Nokia, I wont go elsewhere. It has many "fatal" flaws in my opinion, Music is my world. 1. U cannot adjust the volume unless I'm in the music player - PAINFUL. 2. Radio does not appear to have a loudspeaker - this is bad. 3. Numbers are flat and far apart, typing texts with long nails is near impossible (and they're not even that long). 4. Its slow, I tried speeding it up by just pressing the option I knew I'd need next and it reset itself and I had to start again (I've had it for a week). 5. Music comes out of 1 small hole at the back of the phone, accidentally put your finger over it and you hear nothing, never mind if you want it facing upright while you type. 6. no such thing as a user friendly pouch for this thing unless you want to be putting it in and out of something all day long. I have small children so those Rubber Capdase pouches are most practical as they get dropped on the floor. Cant get one for this because its a slide phone... hmm. what else. 7. Stainless steel so its very heavy. (great upside though if you do drop it, it shouldn't break:-)) 8. The Circle of arrows is very narrow so its difficult to press. otherwise its great as nokia phones go, it does everything they say it should. 9. Camera wise, Nokia still leaves much to be desired (and its a 5megapixel)

this must be the worst phone nokia have brought to the public. had the phone two months and its going back to t-mobile agin for the second time. battery lasted 24 hours at a push and thats on standby and the speaker phone didnt work, now the speaker phone works and the battery even though it was replaced and the software upgraded its still the same. so nokia what are you doing??????. give this one a miss if i were you, maybe i should get t-mobile to give me another phone.

Bought this phone recently to replace a Motorola Z3 slider which I have been using for years. I'm a fairly basic phone user, mostly just call, text, and snap the occasional picture, and I wanted something small, so I thought this would be a great phone for me. Unfortunately there was a lot I didn't like and I ended up returning it about a week later. First, it doesn't auto lock when you slide it closed. you can set it to lock after a certain amount of time, but then it will lock even if you are in the middle of something and just get distracted. Second, as others have said, the screen turns off after a short time and although there are options to supposedly turn this feature off, they don't work. Also as others have mentioned, the double tap feature is not really as advertised, I had to hit mine so hard it felt like I would break it. I found the software to be very slow and laggy compared to my old motorola as well. I also found the keypad to be hard to use with one hand, and the navigation key was irritatingly loud, while the ringer was irritatingly soft. Overall I like the hardware, and if you put style over function then this phone is a good choice. But, for even the basics, I found the software completely unsatisfactory.

it is possible to give a person their own ring tone, select the person, Details, Options, Add Detail, there's an option that says Tone.

think again before buying this phone.Keypad is uncomfortable and hard to press. Also D pad is not big enough for ease to use.Screen part of sliding body is shaking when slide it up.Shortcut keys are too small and not easy to push the keys.Just an advantage is that this is a new model and it has small body size.Plus screen resolution and outer appearance are very good. That is all.
