Thanks a lot Skipper, So the phone will do all the 'normal' Nokia actions when you got a message (bleep-envelope-name sender on screen) right?
Then the last question is this; is it possible to switch off the T9 texting function on the phone and just text one letter at the time (normal you can change that with the # key on your keypad.Due to the fact this phone has no smiley's; you could still text ; - ) for example to send one. Many Thanks!!!

Im having a bit of a problem. I just got this phone and when i recieve a message it does not come up with the senders name even though all my contacts are saved and not doubled up. So i just wondered if there was something i could do?

Turn "WARNING TONES" OFF. It worked for me.

It does beeping, envelope and gives name of sender on screen. But it is true that it doesn´t count messages in inbox (unless mine not...);but I never get it full (or a warning), and I have lots of messages…

Hello, They told me that this phone has no emoticons. But can you still make a 'smily-face' when texting letter by letter?
And the other thing that i really would like to know. I read that this phone wil not give you a warning when you receive a text message. (so you see no envelope on screen); you always have to check your inbox for new messages. The phone also won't count your messages in your inbox (for exemple, i have new 2500+ text messages on my Nokia 6500 slide phone). I would like to keep this 'normaly' standard future. Can anybody help me with this questions. Like how many text messages can you store on this phone; and will it work like any other Nokia? (beeping; envelope and name of sender on screen). Many thanks!!!

biggest mistake by nokia!! :@ no doubt tat the phone has awesome cam, good features n al. but the os sucks big time. i have had hell lot of problems wit it. i had to drop it in nokia (un)care center 2 days after i got it n they replaced the set after 2 weeks, n same problems!!!! n again i gave it to them n they said they ll send it back to main office :@ this is bullshit. y cant nokia do something abt it? i ll never opt for a nokia again....

About the NOKIA 6700S, I have bought it two months ago and I amazed:
It is letting me avoid carrying the laptop everywhere because I can check mail (and compose of course), I can log in facebook and msn, check the weather, track my position, etc, all at the same time due to symbian multitasking. In the office I can synchronize by bluetooth or USB and I use it as a 3G modem for the notebook by bluetooth, I don´t even need to plug it.
Furthermore, in spite of it is slide and one can think is fragile, it is not the case. By accident it already fall three or four times and it doesn´t have any mark.
Those who look for great and incredible music in a phone (and like to be in the bus making noise), this is not the phone for you. This phone is a Smartphone, and surely people like you won´t appreciate what it is (if you know what it is…).
I recommend this phone for work, it really worth the money. Is like having a small netbook in your pocket.

This fone is costly because of 5mp camera and 3g. If there is only 2 mp camera and 3mbps 3g then its cost price would be rs.5000 only. This is dabba phone!!! Earphone jack is small..!! We cant attach woofers and big speakers. Today its cost price in india is rs.9500. This fone is good for fotographers ha ha ha. Battery backup is very low...he he..... Only those people will buy this fone who doesnt knws about mobile phones. Those who doesnt knws about any difference between symbian, android, windows, bada etc. Etc. Os. This fone is wastage of money. Thank you :-).
