It will illuminate in pitch dark but not twilight making it difficult to text..a surpising fault at this stage in Nokia design and no light flashing to indicate message or text. Also font is very small and its biggest is not big enough.I loved the 6300 and thought I was geting something similar but the designs are quite different, but I needed a 3g to go with the Gateway as reception here so bad.

Nice neat phone, only disappointment is that the keypads is not illuminated, on the black phone it makes texting in the dark impossible.

If you want a phone with WLAN,just buy E51.I think it'a bater than this one(6730).Just my opinion.

Lord knows why Nokia got rid of the function. It's one I use several times every day. Sending the phone back.
