hey guys jst wanted to ask... should we update our phone ourselves or through nokia center cos the man sitting in nokia care center told me that it is not safe to update your phone via internet???

guys updated my 701 to Belle FP1!
Wat ever Nokia mentioned in their update they av done it.Browser ver. changed, UI is smooth, new widgets, task manager changed,still didn't check Dolby surround sound.
Few more changes which i noticed is as follows:
1.we cannot change the aspect ratio in video.
2.New message and ringtones changed.
3.we cannot on or off the theme effects in themes as before(that option is removed but still mobile is fast)
4.Stereo sound option removed from music player.
5.we cannot find more profile options wen we press the power button, only offline,power saver mode, silent,lock phone and switch off options available.
6.No user guide option in any places except in menu screen.
7.Minor changes in keyboard.
8.minor changes in camera options
guys let me know if u find any other changes.

i live in Bangladesh. my father sent nokia 701 from Dubai. my phone's product code is 059H224. i downloaded the update and tried thrice to install it. but while restarting the screen goes blank and indicator light starts beeping. it happens till charge is finished. after starting the phone it goes to its previous version. then i decided to reset its factory setting. but after that while checking SW, it says "no new updates" !!!!! but i updated my MS apps 2 days ago. can anyone tell me what the reson could be? or it is released for certain products????

Anonymous, 11 Apr 2012I dont find any option to turn the theme effects off. Have ... moref u connect the headset the dolby headphone will appear... I think the reason y they removed the theme effects because as u notice after update to fp1 the effects r already there try to observe...

microsoft app update has stopped the email functionality of 701. Not removable even after reset.

microsoft office update has disturned the email client. Even after reset these email icons ate not opening.

update is not very impressive except the browser...after updating microsoft app my email icons are not responding..two email icons are visible but none working.... Guys please write are u facing the same problem?,,,
