Bought 701 a month ago and I like it very much. Sure, screen could be bigger and resolution better but it gets the job done. I put 32Gb memory card in and now I have a great music library with me all the time and able to listen it in car of anywhere using FM transmitter. It has NFC which is nice, and Nokia Maps and Drive. Good tuff! With upcoming Microsoft Apps I got everything I need! Can't wait to get that SkyDrive App!

can somebody pls xplain to me, why is nokia obsessed with fixed focus cams?? Fixed focus sucks!!
symbian is so good....
i liked the old symbian task manager with small icons.... the new one with 3 vieable runnin apps sucks!!

Just got a Nokia 701,awesome phone but I'm having problem updating the phone software. After starting the SW update on my phone,its displays "checking for the latest improvements for your nokia 701" then a page comes up with Improved software, Restart required.
When I start the update it says processing for a few seconds but nothing happens.
Please can someone tell me if there is anything I'm not doing right

nice phone, value for money, even belle hangs & restarts.
Does not support hindi fonts in web browsing.
Please help.

i got this phone last week camera is good...and fast apps open...this is prefect mobile for me...batery backup also good...suprb phone...wifi and is blazing fast..even in 2g network too..

Using it for 3 months. Why I chose Nokia 701 instead of others (Samsung Galaxy S2 especially)
1) Size - just nice size as a phone
2) Price - Much cheaper
3) Battery - Symbian >> Android
4) Nokia built more robust (proven in so many models)
(I accidently drop mine many times)
5) Very seldom hang/freeze
6) Less virus attack vs android
7) Best screen for outdoor (almost 50% we outdoor)
8) Free map all over the world (you name the country)
9) GPS Voice Navigation - no need data
10)I can live without 500 000apps -ovistore got 50 000
(no matter which store 90% of apps are useless)
11)Nokia keep update its software (3 times already
in 3 months of use) - auto trigger through ovisuite
12)Ovistore also auto trigger if your installed apps
got new update
13) Nokia Betalab got some delicious apps
14) This phone got real radio (not via internet)
15) FM transmitter-super cool. Not many phone got it.

Still finding more and learning more about this phone, will update if I find more

to save batery life on the 701 i found out few triks, first go in general mode disable vibration on tuch, in network mode use gsm, disable nfc also beacouse its always on, lower the brightness on the screen on 30%.
i did this and 1 day more batery life,
SKYPE FOR NOW U CAN FIND IN IMO IT WORKS ! we will have skype in jan or feb ppl this is new phone and it best

It is not mentioned by the gsmarena !
Firstly untill 15-20 days back it was mentioned, but i think they have removed it.

AnonD-12407, 22 Dec 2011I would say 710.. simply because WP7 has a proper future..Even though wp future is some what decided does not mean current wp7.5 has no problem in the present form..wp7.5 need to travel long distance to have latest smartphone features of android or symbian..,even its core is based on old windows mobile platform(prone for malware attack eg-latest sms malware which attacked wp7 user)..since wp7 is in premordial form it is better to buy wp7 in future than in present time..nokia belle will gets atleast one major updates apart from many minor updates..also nokia 710 lacks hardware features(like lack of nfc and front facing camera) so even microsoft bring updates it can bring factures to it..

all the windows phones by nokia lacks front camera which is for video calling.
and the major drawback of this lumia series is that there is no card slot for extra memory.

Advantage of nokia 710 over nokia 701 are faster cpu,better screen resolution and integrated social app..
