Ding:
1. Install Mame (I can assure you this is a must! :o) )
2. Do not unzip the files, copy them over to your phone as they are.
3. I have made numerous posts about how to get Mame working and I'm not doing it again, look at the earlier posts.
Picodrive Roms (again I have already posted this): http://www.emurussia.km.ru/default.php?a=stats&sid=gen&l=en
FWIW, I think picodrive is the better emulator currently. Its full screen (no sound)and more modern games.

wasupg :
Yes you need to install PicoDrive or MAME first... then you'll have to dload the game roms... there are LOTS of sites which offer free roms on the net... Try Google... you'll definately find one... rom-world.com also has a huge database of roms...

My 7710 just came through the door... looks nice!! Slightly bigger than my p910 so yeah it is a big phone. Can play mp3 as ringtones for all you wondering. Just have to save the mp3 to the phone not memory card. 90mb of phone mem so good enough. Upgrade to 1gb mmc tomorrow for movies and stuff. Generally a really good phone if a little big.

Other picodrive games that work (just tested them): Animaniacs, boogerman, castlevania bloodlines, contra hard corps, earthworm jim, golden axe 2, The lion king, sonic the hedgehog 2, tiny toon adventures. I have no idea if they work all the way through etc as I only tested a few seconds of each game. Sonic 2, tiny toons , lion king and golden axe 2 seemed best. Sonic 2 was very similar to the version I played on my PC.
(Note: Bugs Bunny in Double Trouble and Mortal Kombat 3, do NOT work. I believed my kids, but have tested them now.)

Okay, Picodrive games which I know work (I've still got to check my latest upload, so will let you know about those later) : - 777_casino, aladdin, bugs bunny in double trouble, chess, frogger, golden axe, lemmings, mega bomberman, mortal combat 5, mortal kombat 3, phantasy star the end..., the simpsons (barts nighmare), super mario world, tetris, xenon 2 megablast, zoop.
You can close applications running in the background by either 1. pressing the bottom right key for five seconds and it then says "closing applications" and does so or 2. getting and installing "switcher" (see my symbian webs site), this series 80 software works on the 7710 and is more effective than closing application (as pressing that button does NOT close all of them). So basically get and instal switcher.
As for MMC cards, I would reinstall the card reader drivers. I would also (sounds stupid by I did this)make sure you are putting them the right way up and far enough into the card reader (on mine they have to be upside down). Also try a different card (like a digital camera card). There should be no reason for a card to "suddenly" become unreadable in just the reader and not the phone, it must be the reader. Free games : - look through this thread at earlier pages.
There is no (afaik) non-bluetooth qwerty keyboard for the 7710. With my 7710, I just plug the usb cable into my pc and then my phone. In explorer, this then causes the phone to appear under the "directory" Nokia Phone Browser and I am able to read and write to and from the phone with no problems what so ever. Occaisionally, the phone is not picked up, but I then just unplug it and push back in until Windows gets the message. I do not use PC Suite any longer really, but you do need it installed to get the nokia phone browser pseudo directory I beleive.
Hope this helps.

I just bought 7710. It works smooth for me except for one prob.
I cannot close a runnig application. Like File Manager, Real Player. They all keep running in BG and conume RAM. I cannot find anyway to close. Can someone please tell me how i can close an application on 7710.
Bundle of thanks in Advance

Hi all, my card reader is unable to read my MMC (when connected to my PC running on XP Home) but the MMC is working when it is inserted in my phone. Can I know what is wrong? It used to be able to read when I first bought the MMC.
Also, can I know where I can get free games for this phone? Many games for downloads are usually not for our widescreen.. :(
Thanks!!

Thanks, for all the comments. I was able to use the PC suite software. However this is rather clumsy piece of software for a multimedia phone/terminal. I can see its usefullness for people looking to synchronize calendars and contacts, but it is horrible for accessing the memory, and particularly the photo's and multimedia files stored on it.
For instance, you need to download an image (sloowwww), then open it an image viewer like acdsee.
There is no direct access to the file directories, through this pc suite interface. There is no way to scroll through the list of images using a viewer.
So, is there a way to just hook it up to the usb port and access it using windows explorer to move/copy/access the files/directories on the memorycard/rom? My MAC-using friends have no problem doing it this way.
BTW, I agree with all the comments, regarding the slow response of the device to the controls/touchscreen. Aswell as the battery live.

7710 Owner, sorry to hear you're having problems. I've used PC Suite on my work PC (Windows 2000) and my home one (Windows XP Home) and it works fine on each. With each, I just installed the software and then plugged in the cable to the phone and USB and it appeared on my Explorer browser. If you continue to have problems and if the solution suggested by castillo doesn't work, then wha tyou can also do is get a USB card reader (about £14) and just plug your memory card into that. I tend to use my memory card reader at home and PC suite at work.
I have a laptop with XP Pro on it, which if I have time today I will install PC Suite on and check that too.

You should try uninstalling all installed program from the Nokia site, CD..etc.
If you have the system restore switched on, you should probably restore back when you never installed any Nokia programs.
Then run the installation again, plug the phone using the USB, and wait for the sound Windows make when a new hardware is attached.
If you have system restore off, then don't worry, just uninstall, and run the installation with the phone plugged in, wait for the sound.
The problem is that the installation is missing USB recognition part, that installation pops-up after Nokia PC Suite is installed.
Just tell me exactly what is going wrong through the installation if my suggested procedure doesnt work.

In addition to what I was saying, this phone if put in a Business Wise section, the Nokia 7710 is another failure like the Motorola MPx, but in retrospec this phone is made for Multimedia use.
