Uh, so? And tell me, how is ANY of that relevant to my point? I don't care how much these ROMs make up the market, my point was specifically referring to that fact that those roms AREN'T based on stock Android, so it's an unfair comparison. You are arguing against your own argument.

>"And who on earth would use featureless OS? Not many. Even less that 10%."
So you want to use an OS packed with tons of useless features and bloatware that makes the phone feel slow and cluttered? Got it.

As I said, I can change EVERY element of UI. EVERY.

Cherry picked ROMs? Man, get out of your house. These ROMs together constitute for about 60-70% of the market. Apart from them, only OxygenOS is left (considering WELL-KNOWN brands). Sadly, Nokia doesn't even constitute 2% of Global market share. There are few more like ZenUI, HIOS, EMUI. But, then again they are also heavily modded OSs

There is still a difference between eating organic vegetables and eating vegetables directly after plucking them. You won't eat potato just after unrooting. (HOPEFULLY)

And who on earth would use featureless OS? Not many. Even less that 10%.

SShreyas, 15 Oct 2020Silly? Do you even knew such a word existed? Then nothing... more> nothing can be more silly than comparing a ROM with how "CLOSE" it is

Then you clearly do not understand what AOSP is.

            > I can change anything on any ROM and make it look like what you want to.

Except the fact that you can't. You can't change everything. You could theoretically change most of the things, but not everything. And even if you did, it would essentially be a skin on top of a skin, which is even worse.

            >Because as far as I know, none of them share even a single element with that of Vanilla Android.

That's because they don't. You just so happen to cherry pick the least AOSP-like ROMs, which is an unfair comparison. They are all heavily modified ROMs.

            >BTW, how does that "closeness" to stock ROM even matter?

Because AOSP is more 'natural'. No modifications, no skins, no extra features, nothing. It's just using the default android UI.

People prefer organic natural non-GMO food for this exact same reason.

If you understand what I mean, great. If you don't, well I can't explain any further as I have already explained this point very clearly.

[deleted post]Any don't both of you start a service of "measuring *closeness* of a ROM with AOSP"?

Then nothing can be more silly than comparing a ROM with how "CLOSE" it is to AOSP. Mind it.
Notification shade, UX, UI? I can change anything on any ROM and make it look like what you want to.

Forget me. Kindly enlighten me which of these is more "closer" to AOSP?
One UI, Sam Experience, ColorOS and MIUI
Because as far as I know, none of them share even a single element with that of Vanilla Android.

                          Um, your eyes?!?!?! LOL.

                          > having an "opinion" is different from spreading baseless rumours about a brand. You can't just start blurting whatever you think, particularly, allegations.

That would make sense..... if I were a famous individual.

But I am not, and we are discussing this on the comment section of some website, so what you said hardly matters here.

I don't think the approach they're taking is "graceful", so to me Xiaomi doesn't deserve much of my respect.

Besides, Xiaomi has already gained enough positive attention by appealing to the masses, I doubt my disparaging opinions will help discourage anyone. Everyone obviously likes Xiaomi now.

Everything has its own pros and cons. Android One used to be a great solutions for entry level and lower mid-range phones, it had quick updates as it's only pros. While it still lacks almost every feature provided by some other ROMa like MIUI, ColorOS, Samsung Experience, etc.
